PROGRAM UPDATES:
VOLUNTEER COACH OF THE WEEK!
Congratulations to Jayden Alexander on earning volunteer coach of the week. Jayden is currently a sophomore at BCIT Westampton. He is also a Del Riv Basketball Alumni who joined us in our 2021-22 season as an 8th grader. Jayden came into the program with raw athletic ability, and he has been working to improve his basketball skill ever since. Immediately after going into high school, one of his first questions was, "Can I coach a team with my dad?" Jayden shows up for every free clinic, helping out with teaching new and returning players and this will be his second season as a coach in our league coaching along side his dad. He is a great leader, he runs the practices with his father help and really works on sharing what he knows and also what he is learning at the high school level with the players he coaches. Jayden is becoming a great leader. Having Jayden work with the kids in our program is a blessing and it really highlights the message of development for our youth in every aspect. You learn so much but coaching as a player and it is showing itself in Jayden's game at the HS level.
Thank you Coach Jayden! We are grateful for you and look forward to your future as both an athlete and a coach!

2023-24 WINTER BASKETBALL
As we prepare for the rest of our Del Riv Basketball Season, we are working to set-up an end of the season basketball banquet for all the teams and programs that participated in the 2023-24 Winter Basketball League from grades 2 to 8. We would like to celebrate the effort and hard work of all our volunteers, coaches, and players in our program.

DEL RIV NIGHT!
Come out on February 5th to watch Riverside Boys Basketball play against LEAP Academy. The Rams are coached by Carmine Cesare, who also helps coach our mini's program. Riverside High School was a major factor in helping our league get back up in running in 2021-22 by allowing us gym use on Sundays, despite a very packed schedule for their interscholastic sports teams along with all the other things the school has going on. We would love to support the program like they have supported us. You also have seen volunteers like Sophomore Cameron Brown, running the clock or keeping score at the gym over the past 2 years for Del Riv game days. Cameron is currently a starter for the boys basketball team.
We hope that you will join us in supporting the high school basketball team at RHS. The game will be at Riverside High School at 5:15 PM. More details about how to sign-up as well as ticket costs will be available soon!

DEL RIV MONTHLY MEETING
This Tuesday is our monthly Executive Board Meeting and we would like to invite all of our members to come down for our first meeting of the year.
BOARD MEMBERS WANTED!
We are still looking for a Treasurer for Del Riv's executive board. You will be given all the information and training necessary to help us run our program from a financial perspective. CPR/AED CERTIFICATION CLASSES
Del Riv will be hosting a CPR/AED Certification class this spring for any and all admin, commissioners, volunteers and coaches that wish to attend. We will be working on providing you all with a date for the classes very soon, but if you have any interest at all in attending, please email us at [email protected] so you can stay up to date for when the information comes out for the classes.
