PROGRAM UPDATES:

VOLUNTEER COACH OF THE WEEK!

Coach Barry Dudley

Coach Barry is in his third season with our Del Riv Basketball program. He has been steadfast in his dedication to seeing the young women on his team grow, get better together and achieve their goals. This season Coach Barry along with Assistant Coach Bridget have a young group of Riverside and Delanco girls and is hoping to help them build their skills as a unit so that they can all continue growing and playing together at the high school level if they choose to do so. He coaches his practices with thoughtfulness and care and continues to learn and educate himself in hopes to help inspire and motivate the young women to become better athletes and overall better people.

Thank you Coach Barry! We appreciate you and thank you for your time and energy.

COACHING CLASSES & CERTIFICATIONS

CPR/AED CERTIFICATION

Please email us and let us know if you are interested in our upcoming CPR/AED Certification class. You do not have to be a coach, commissioner or admin to join these classes! CPR/AED is always a good certification to have no matter what you are doing. Email us at [email protected] if you have any interest in attending. We will have a date very soon!

HEADS UP!

This course is FREE! All coaches will need to take this course in the future to continue volunteering with Del Riv Youth Sports as it is a very important piece of coaching youth sports. It is completely online so you can take it on your own time.

LINK TO CONCUSSION TRAINING

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This training, developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is designed specifically for youth sports coaches. This training will cover concussion basics, what to do when an athlete shows signs and symptoms of concussion, and will explore how coaches can contribute to concussion prevention and safety.

WHAT TO EXPECT: This training course combines didactic information with knowledge checks and illustrated case studies with a variety of scenarios to help you achieve the key learning objectives of the course.

RUTGERS COACHING COURSE

Another coaching course that many youth sports programs have their coaches take is the Rutgers Coaching Course. You can check out dates to sign-up for these course as well. We are also looking at hosting one for our Del Riv Coaches. Any coach can attend this online zoom clinics. please check out some dates and see what fits your schedule! LINK TO SCHEDULE

The overall goal is to continue to be better coaches, adults and role models for the youth in our program and community and these classes and certifications help us to do that.
