NOW ACCEPTING FALL BALL REGISTRATION!

New Britain Little League Division Breakdown

FALL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!

Thank you for choosing New Britain Little League!!! Please follow the age requirements below so that you know which division to enroll your player in.

Every players age goes off of Little League age rules. This is called league age. Just because your child is for example 8, does not mean he is league age 8. Follow this link to find out which league age your child is in order to place him/her in the correct division.

2017 DIVISIONS OF PLAY

New Britain Little League offers a wide variety of divisions of play for those who are between the ages of 4-16. Whether your child is just starting off in the game, is playing the game for fun, or is serious about continuing in the game beyond Little League, we have every base covered. Below are descriptions of each division along with any local modified playing rules

TBALL (We do not have a TBall Program in Fall)

Whether you plan on playing softball or baseball, your journey starts here. Children are taught the basics of the game while having lots of fun! While children will begin to learn basic fundamentals, the main emphasis is getting everyone involved and keeping their interest in the sport at an all-time high!

Players will be rotated on the bench and field. No player will sit on the bench for more than one inning.

Coaches will pitch to the players throughout the entire season

No batter will walk throughout the season. If a player accumulates four balls, they will hit off the batting tee.

An inning will end when the defensive team records three outs or when the offensive team bats once through the order.

Minors Baseball

This division is for preparation to enter the Major Leagues. In order to ensure this, our Minors division is structured almost exactly the same as our Majors division - complete with standings, playoffs, and a championship.

League Ages 7 -10.

12 - 14 players per team

Teams will play two games a week (A week is defined as Sunday - Saturday)

Each game will be five innings long. The game will continue until it is too dark to continue.

Each team is allowed to score five runs per offensive inning. The only exception is the last inning, where it's unlimited.

A team only has to bat as many players as the opposing team. For example, if one team has 11 players show up and the other team has 14 players show up, the team with 14 only needs to bat 11 players through their original lineup.

All players must receive at least one at bat and play at least two defensive innings.

Majors Baseball

In our Majors division, players are able to improve on their baseball skills, also while learning the advanced techniques of baseball. The Major League is competitive - where standings are kept and a post-season tournament is held to determine a league champion. All players who are just moving up from Minors must try-out to be considered for the Majors.

Juniors Baseball

The Juniors Division is the pinnacle of one's career in New Britain Little League. Players are now on the biggest diamond with bases that are 90 feet apart. This is the biggest field that baseball is played on - whether here in NBLL, high school or the MLB. Players will learn advanced techniques and will continue to hone their skill in preparation for the next step of their baseball career. This division travels to nearby towns and will play half their games in New Britain and half their games in locations such as Berlin, Farmington, Southington, Meriden, Plainville and more.
