Palo Verde Families:

It is hard to believe that Fall Ball is already over, and the 2018 Little League season is fast approaching.  We would like to welcome back our current families and welcome new families to our league. 

This newsletter will have general information about this year Palo Verde Little League season and some important dates to keep in mind. 

Introduction of the 2017-2018 Board of Directors:

Your Board of Directors have already been meeting and working hard to prepare for the new season and getting important dates on the calendar.  

Your 2017-2018 President is Niki Bourassa.  She is entering her 4th year on the board and entering her 7th year as a Palo Verde Baseball Mom!

Our past Vice President, Kelly Raach, has stepped down from the board.  Her presence will be missed but we are very lucky to still have the Raach Family as part of our Palo Verde community   This position is currently vacant.

Entering her 5th year with Palo Verde and 3rd as a board member is Treasurer, Tina Ernle.Adriana Leyva held two positions with the PV Board last year.  

This year, she is continuing as our Secretary and taking on the role as Information Manager.  Adriana is entering her 7thseason with Palo Verde and her 2nd year as a proud board member.

Player Agent is a very important role in our league. This year, the board voted in TWO player agents.  Tara Gonzales will be working with the Minor and Major teams.  This is her 6th year with the league and 3rd year as a board member.  Miguel Brito, new to our board this year, will be the Player Agent for the Tball and the Coach Pitch teams.  This is his 4th year with the league.  Welcome Miguel!

Our Coaching Coordinator had been Justin Fallwell, who also stepped down from the board but thankfully still a part of our Palo Verde Family.  New to the position is Jesse Minyard.  This is Coach Jesse’s 6th year with the league and 3rd year on the board.  Please keep a look out for information on how to become a Palo Verde Coach or Manager!

With Jesse moving to a new position, we welcome Cruz Leyva to our new Umpire in Chief.   This is his 7th year with Palo Verde and 2nd year on the board.  If you are interested in being an umpire, please talk to Cruz!

Our Snack Bar will be headed up by a new face!  Welcome Leticia Freitag, who is entering her 2nd year with the league and new to our board. Leticia brings many years of experience and we are excited to have her as our new Snack Bar Manager and heading up Sponsorship and Marketing! Welcome Leticia!

Your 2017-2018 Safety Officer will be Stephen Gonzales.  This is his 6th year with the league and 2nd year on the board.  Stephen will be making sure all equipment is safe and ready to use!

Our General Board Members are Brandon Waites and Stephanie Waites.  Brandon has been with the league for 3 years and was our Marking Coordinator.  This is his 2nd year on the board.  Stephanie has also been with the league for 3 years and is new to the board.  Welcome Stephanie!

We always welcome new faces to our board meetings. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month.  If you are interested in attending, look for dates and times on our Facebook page and our league website!  Your commitment makes a huge difference in the success of the League and our player’s experience.   

Spring Registration:

Online registration will open December 16th.  You can login to PaloVerdeLL.com to create and account or use your existing account to register and pay.  We will hold one (1) in person registration and residency verification around this time.  In person registration will also be held January 6th and 20th and February 3rd and 10th.   Online registration will continue to be available during these times.  Places and times will be determined soon.  These times are subject to change and notifications will be sent out with any changes. 

Player Evaluations:

Player evaluations will be taking place on Friday, February 9th at 6:00pm and Saturday, February 10th at 10:00am and 1:00pm located at Palo Verde Park. All players registered for the Minors and Majors Divisions are required to attend at least 2 of the 3 scheduled evaluations. Please be sure that your player arrives practice ready - meaning that he or she should have cleats, gloves, cup, bat and helmet if they have one. We will have helmets available if your player does not have their own.  We hope to have team rostered by February 17th with practices starting the last week of February and games set to start the last week of March.
