Volunteers Needed to Fill Open Board Positions: Help Our League Thrive

Are you passionate about baseball or softball? Do you believe in the power of community and the joy it brings to our young athletes? If so, we need your help! Our baseball league is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to fill several open board positions, and we invite individuals like you to join us in continuing the success of our league and making a positive impact on the lives of children in our community.

Join Us in Supporting Our Community and Young Athletes

We have several key board positions that urgently need to be filled to ensure the continued success of our baseball league:

  • President: The president of the MPK Baseball and Softball organization assumes a multifaceted role encompassing leadership, governance, and strategic planning. Responsible for steering the organization's overall direction, the president presides over board meetings, ensuring adherence to bylaws and regulations. Strategic planning involves setting long-term goals and objectives in collaboration with the board. Effective communication is paramount, as the president acts as the spokesperson, addressing concerns within the organization and engaging with members, parents, coaches, and other stakeholders. Financial oversight involves collaboration with the treasurer to manage budgets, seek sponsorships, and oversee fundraising efforts. The president coordinates league activities, ensures compliance with rules, recruits and manages volunteers, and supports player development programs. Facilities, risk management, and community engagement are also part of the president's purview. In collaboration with a board and various committees, the president works to foster a positive and collaborative environment, ensuring the success and sustainability of the organization.
  • Social Media Director: As the Social Media Director for MPK Baseball and Softball, your role involves developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the league's online presence. This includes creating engaging content across various platforms, fostering community engagement, and ensuring consistent branding. You'll manage live event coverage, collaborate with sponsors, and utilize analytics to track and optimize performance. Collaborating with the board, staying updated on social media trends, and handling crisis communication are also key aspects of your responsibilities. Overall, your goal is to effectively promote the league's mission, increase visibility, and strengthen community connections through strategic social media initiatives.
  • Snack Bar Director: As the Snack Bar Director for MPK Baseball and Softball, your role centers on organizing and facilitating the day-to-day operations of the snack bar during league events. This includes coordinating with vendors to ensure timely supply deliveries, managing inventory levels, and overseeing the setup and cleanliness of the snack bar area. You'll play a key part in menu planning, pricing strategies, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers. Collaborating with volunteers and staff, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to safety and hygiene standards are integral to your responsibilities. Additionally, you'll assist in implementing any changes or improvements to enhance the overall snack bar experience for league participants and spectators.
  • Team Rep/Event Director: The Team Representative/Event Coordinator for MPK Baseball and Softball plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and organized functioning of both teams' activities and events. Serving as a liaison between team representatives and the board will be your primary responsibility and this person facilitates effective communication and fosters a sense of camaraderie. Responsibilities include disseminating important information to the Team Representatives via GroupMe application. Additionally, the Team Rep/Event Coordinator takes charge of organizing team-building events, and other social activities to strengthen team cohesion.   
  • Snack Bar Coordinator: As the Snack Bar Coordinator for MPK Baseball and Softball, your role centers around supporting the Snack Bar Director. You will assist the director on organizing, managing and facilitating the day-to-day operations of the snack bar during league events and games. This includes managing inventory levels, overseeing the day to day operations, and cleanliness of the snack bar area. You'll work with the director in menu planning, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers. Collaborating with volunteers, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to safety and hygiene standards are integral to your responsibilities. Additionally, you'll assist in implementing any changes or improvements to enhance the overall snack bar experience for league participants and spectators.
  • Equipment Coordinator: As the Field Maintenance/Equipment Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will be in assisting the Director of Field Maintenance and Equipment. This will  involve field maintenance, inventory management, overseeing the distribution and collection of equipment at the start and end of each season, and maintaining effective communication with league managers and coaches. You will work closely alongside the Field Maintenance/Equipment Director which will involve sharing insights on equipment needs, participating in decision-making processes related to purchases, and coordinating efforts to optimize the distribution and collection of gear. Working on field maintenance needs in collaboration with the City of Monterey Park, managing the equipment, and recruiting volunteers for support are key components of the role. Your role is crucial in fostering a safe and organized sports environment, contributing to a positive experience for all league participants.
