2018 LMYFA Pop Warner Cheer

Lake Mary Pop Warner Youth Cheerleading

Our season begins August 1st, 2018 and runs through December 31st, 2018. 

We are here to bring the youth that are in the Lake Mary and surrounding area together and learn the basics of where cheer started. On the Sideline. 

Pop Warner is a scholastic association - participants that keep up their grades could qualify for scholarships over the years of their participation with the program. We make sure all athletes know they are student athletes not athletic students.

Our goal is to teach the basics of motions, tumbling, jumping and stunting, and of course learn cheers and chants along the way for when they cheer for the football teams on Saturdays. 

What Teams Do You Have?
We have six teams that we are looking to fill:

Non-Competitive - Exhibition only teams
Tiny Mites (5-6-7*)
Mitey Mites (7-8-9) 

Competitive Teams
Jr. Pee Wee (8-9-10-11)
Pee Wee (9-10-11-12)
Jr. Varsity (10-11-12-13)
Varsity (11-12-13-14-15)

*some associations restrict registration to 6&7 year olds only

How Much Does It Cost? 

The 2018 Season cost $300.00. This is an exceptional value once you consider the length of the season and the number of hours the cheerleaders and volunteer coaches commit to the program over the next four months. 

What Is Included In My Registration Cost?

The following will be provided to your child once full payment (registration/fundraising/ team fee has been paid in full)

1. Practice uniform (shirt and shorts) will be supplied to your cheerleader for the    
    season and will need to be worn the days the coach requires. 
2. Game Day Uniform - (shell and skirt) this will be provided to you as a rental - and     will need to be returned at the end of the season. 
3. Competition Uniform - (bodyliner) this will be provided to you as a rental and will     need to be returned at the end of the season.
4. Pom Poms - Three pom poms (red, black and pink) will be provided to you as a    
    rental. These will need to be turned in at the end of the season.

Are There Any Additional Fees? 

Non Volunteer Fee $50.00 - Lake Mary Pop Warner is ran solely on volunteers. All board members, coaches and team parents donate their time year round to prep for the season and upcoming seaosns. We ask that each parent donate two hours to work in the concession stand or chain gang crew during one of our Saturday home games.

Cheer Shoes  - ** all cheerleaders will purchase the shoes chosen by the association***

Black Briefs/ compression shorts
-  these are to be worn under their your game day and competition uniform.

Team Fee - will be determined at a later time - fees will be for exhibition/ competition attire, homecoming gift, end of the season party, etc. 

Fundraising - we have teamed up with Lake Mary High School for fundraising to lower the cost of using their facility. When you sign up you will have one of several options to choose from.
1. Sell Five (5) tickets to the LMHS 5K in May. This is a $100.00 value *we do ask
    that each registrant run*
2. Become a Silver Booster Club Member for LMHS - this is a $200.00 value
3. Become a Gold Booster Club Member for LMHS - this is a $300.00 value

When Are Practices? 
Each cheerleader is required to complete a 20 hour conditioning time within the first 10 practice days. 

Practices are Monday - Thursday for the first 10 days. Times for ALL teams are 6:00pm - 8:30pm no exceptions. Once conditioning is completed Tiny and Mitey Mite cheer teams will reduce their hours. All competitive teams will continue a 10 hour practice week for the month of August.

Starting Labor Day all competitive teams will reduce their practice times to 6 hours a week.

Practice Days after Labor day will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm - 8:00pm are the practice days and times for all teams for the 2018 season.
