Player Evaluations

Player Evaluations

These sessions are Baseball & Softball Skills Assessments and not team tryouts. We want the kids to be relaxed and have fun and show their current skill level, without stress. Proper division determination may be done if a player is registered in a division level that may be unsafe for them to play or if the player need added work at a lower division to gain growth of their skills. Players will be assessed on Running, Catching & Fielding, Hitting & Pitching.

Players registered for the Minor & Above divisions need to attend only one of the sessions at the time specified for the division in which they are registered. It is our goal to move through these evaluations quickly and efficiently. You can expect to be at the fields between 30-60 minutes. Volunteers will be there to answer any questions.

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YOUR PLAYER ATTENDS EVALUATIONS!  If they don't- they CANNOT be drafted, but will be drawn from a hat and placed on a team randomly.  Additionally, they may not be eligible for All Stars at the end of the season.

2024 Evaluations will be held at GWLL
*A signup genius will be emailed to all divisions required to attend. Please sign-up for a time-slot in your player's divisions specified time.

You can also find the 2024 Evaluation signup genius HERE

*50/70 Intermediate & Junior Baseball do NOT need to attend the 2024 evaluations as there is only 1 team in each
division so there will be no draft.  If this changes they will be notified.

Players need to attend in athletic attire. Players should wear cleats if they have them. Please bring a Baseball or Softball glove, bat, and helmet if available (GWLL does have a few extra Bats & Helmets to use if needed).

Thinking about Moving-up or Moving Down a Division?
In rare occasions, a player can request to either move up or move down from their age assigned division. Parents need to complete a request form and have the player attend the Move-up/ Move Down Evaluation session as noted above.  The League's Evaluation Board will evaluate the players and make a determination on the request. The Board's focus is for the player to be in the appropriate division based on their skill level. The Board will also evaluate to determine if there are safety concerns for the player moving to the requested division, or if there are safety concerns for the other players in the division if that player was in that division

Note: Players changing a division may be at a disadvantage, and in some cases, may forfeit eligibility for selection to an All-Star Team.

TBall and PeeWee Divisions

Players playing in these divisions will be placed on teams based on age as well as coach and/or friend requests and do NOT need to attend player evaluations (Unless they are being evaluated to move up/down)
*We cannot guarantee all requests will be accommodated but we will do our very best.
