Dear Almaden Little League Families,

Fall ball signs up have now closed.  

Fall ball is a great opportunity to continue learning the game in a low stress environment.  It isn’t competitive and the season allows for the kids to have some fun playing ball and keep their skills sharp for the much more competitive spring season. 

We recommend playing up a division to get your kid used to the division they are approaching.  For example, if you are a 2023 season 8-year old, you should play AAA, the 9-10 year old division, because they will likely play in AAA in the spring.  In addition we find the level of play is skewed by one level, meaning if you are used to competitive AAA play, you might find Majors to more closely resemble the equivalent level of play.

Both Baseball and Softball Season will run from early Sept to mid Nov.  Games will be scheduled against neighboring leagues.  Softball has the option in the fall to create a team and opt out of the rec play in favor of tournament ball.  This comes with additional cost which the families will have to assume and additional logistical concerns which the coach will bear.  Unfortunately baseball doesn’t have the same option within little league.  

The league provides fields to practice on and uniforms, which includes a hat/visor and a jersey.  There are no drafts for the teams.  They are constructed through coach and buddy requests.  We do our best to accommodate all requests.  Kids without either get slotted to a team with space available.

Our league runs on the back of our volunteer coaches.  The only way to guarantee your child has a spot on a team is to volunteer to be a coach.  Please consider signing up as a part of your child’s registration.

The cost for the season is $200.
