Now that the holidays have passed, we are switching our focus to the 2024 Spring ball season. Below are some important dates.

• January 1 Online registration opens
• January 20 10am-noon in person registration at North East library
• February 7 6pm-8pm in person registration at North East library
• February 16 last day to register to be guaranteed on a team. $20 late fee if spot is available in division
• February 24 (rain date February 25) for skills assessment
• March practices will start
• April 6 will be Opening Day
• May 5 mid-season division practice
• June 1 Championship Day (more details to come)

The price for registration is $170/player.  To finish the registration process, you will need to upload residency or school enrollment paperwork into your account or provide paper copies to a board member.  If you are a new player, a copy of the birth certificate is also required.  This paperwork is a requirement of Little League.  Little League residency requirements can be found here.  If you attend a school within NELL boundaries (Bay View Elementary School, North East Elementary School, Elk Neck Elementary School, Charlestown Elementary School, North East Middle School, North East High School, Tome School), you are eligible to use a school enrollment form located here.

Divisions:  The tee ball division is coed and will be using a baseball.  Minor B and above divisions are split into baseball and softball.  The junior and senior divisions will be combined after registration and play at the senior division rules.

Intermediate: This is a baseball division for league age 11-13.  All players who register for this division will be placed on a wait list to see if NELL can field a team and if other towns will be offering this division as well.  Once it is determined we will host this division, you will receive and email for payment.  Please keep in mind your child can play this division along with either major or jr/sr baseball (based on league age).  If Intermediate is the second division for a player, the cost for the division will be reduced to $75. To ensure your child gets to play in the spring, it is recommended to sign up for either the Major or Jr/Sr division and then they can withdraw if the Intermediate division is offered.  If your player only registers for the Intermediate division, and it is not offered, we can not guarantee a spot in another division if it is after February 16.

We are looking for businesses to sponsor our league. There are several different packages available to choose from.  If you or a family member/friend own a business or work for a business who would sponsor/make a donation, please reach out to us.  Thanks to our sponsors from last year, we were able to purchase new bleachers for field 1 and field 3.  Also, new scoreboards will be installed on field 1 and field 5.  We will continue to work to get bleachers replaced on other fields as well as put roofs on the tee ball fields. 

Anyone who wants to volunteer this year have to complete a couple online training courses and have a background check.  Be sure to register in the database as volunteer, upload your driver’s license and answer the listed questions.  The courses will be sent out once you’re enrolled as a volunteer.  The completed course certificates will need to be emailed into the league.
