A Message From Our Chief Umpire

Welcome to a page dedicated to aspiring, rookie, as well as seasoned Little League umpires. In addition, I believe that this page is a great source of information for managers, coaches and parents.

Umpiring Little League baseball has been one of the most rewarding things that I have done in my life. A little league umpire can positively impact the lives of young men and women more in one season than many people will in their lifetime. It is an awesome opportunity, which comes with great responsibility.

The key to being the best umpire you can be is continual learning and self-reflection. As an umpire, we strive for that perfect game, but we realize that we are human and will miss a call or two each game. We need to learn from each situation and continually strive to improve. I have designed this page to provide you with information to help with this never ending journey. I welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Something to Think About

Just a Little Boy

"He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded, the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him, he stands all alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball nears the plate, he swings and he misses.
There’s a groan from the crowd, with some boos and some hisses.
The thoughtless voice cries, “Strike out the bum.”
Tears fill his eyes; the game’s no longer fun.
So open your heart and give him a break
For it’s moments like this a man you can make.
Keep this in mind when you hear someone forget:
He’s just a little boy, and not a man yet."
