Please use your caps your were given in Tee Ball or a later grade. Metal Cleats are allowed. You do not have to play Spring Baseball to play Pony League and you do not have to play Pony League to play Spring Baseball. When signing up, be sure to sign up for Spring Ball and or Pony League. You need to sign up for both to play both.

Spring Ball typically begins in early March and runs through mid May. As long as we have enough coaches and players, it will be a 7th grade and an 8th grade team. It is a good chance to get a head start on the Pony League season. You may also participate in track and play Jr High baseball as the spring season is not an every night event. The coaches will collect the fees during the season as the sign up covers shirts and money to cover umpires.

For Pony League, games typically start in mid May and last through typically 2nd week of July. Depending on number of players, the team selection may be chosen on a tryout basis or a rotating roster. The 7th & 8th graders will be mixed together on teams during the Pony League season. The sign up fee will be $90 per player. If your son sells at least 10 MCDO Rec Committee chicken dinner tickets for the fund raiser, you may keep $40 of that money to put your sign up fee back to $50. If you don’t sell at least 10 tickets, your fee will remain $90. Tickets will be passed out by the coaches once the season starts. If there are tryouts and your son does not make the team, your sign up fee will be refunded.  When participating in Pony League, the MCDO Rec Committee donates the money to pay for umpires ($100 per game), getting the field prepped and some equipment. In exchange, the players are expected to make an effort to sell Chicken Dinner tickets for the MCDO fund raiser.

If you want to be a volunteer coach at this level or any level for your son, please be sure to sign up while you are registering your son. When registering as a parent, please include all contact information so that you will receive updates. Please sign up your spouse or another legal guardian (if you would like them to receive updates) as an additional account user. Instead of having 2 separate accounts and entering children's information twice, register an additional account user so that both parents or legal guardians receive all updates. By doing this, it will only require a different username and password; but will pull in other information and children's information. It is important to do this so that the correct parent or guardian who chooses to volunteer as a committee member, coach, assistant coach, diamond maintenance or umpire will have the correct information entered. Click on your account information to add an additional account user.
