T-Ball (Ages 4 to 6) BASEBALL

T-Ball is the first introduction into Little League Baseball. Boys and girls are provided the basic skills of baseball: base-running, fielding, throwing, hitting and teamwork. Kids learn in a safe, fun environment. At this level, coaches and parents provide true hands-on teaching. Sportsmanship, team dynamics, full participation and respect for all players is emphasized.

Minors - Coach Pitch (Ages 6 to 8) BASEBALL

Geared for beginning and developing baseball and future softball players, players learn the fundamental skills and game strategy of baseball. Players 6-years-old or younger must have played Tee-Ball for one year. Players are typically 7- and 8-years-old. Coaches stress proper throwing and catching skills, base-running, tagging out players and, of course, hitting. At this level, games are coach pitched, giving batters a real pitch to hit and the catchers real experience behind the plate. Players 7- and 8-years-old are also asked to attend a player evaluation session (tryouts) to prepare them for the experience and for possible “play-up” to Minors - Player Pitch for 8-year-olds, by mutual league and parental request.

Minors - Player Pitch (Ages 8 to 10) BASEBALL and SOFTBALL

The Minors - Player Pitch softball and baseball divisions introduce player-pitching and enhanced fielding and game strategy. Players are typically 9- and 10-years-old. Eight-year-olds, by mutual league and parental request may be asked to “play-up” from the Minors - Coach Pitch division after the player evaluation session and/or in-season injury. Likewise, an 11-year-old will be allowed to “play down” from Little League - Majors into this division by parental and league request after player evaluation session (tryouts). No dropped third strike, lead-offs or steals. Players 9- to 12-years-old will automatically be entered into the Little League - Majors division draft. Those not selected for a Little League - Majors team will be drafted onto a Minors - Player Pitch division team.

Majors (Ages 10 to 12) BASEBALL and SOFTBALL

The Majors is a competitive baseball league with players that are typically 11- and 12-years-old. Dropped third strike IS in effect, but no lead-offs or steals are allowed. Team placement is by attendance at a player evaluation session (tryout) and a draft system. Nine- and 10-year-olds, by mutual league and parental request may be asked to “play-up” from the Minors - Player Pitch division after the player evaluation session and/or in-season injury. Likewise, 11- and 12-year-olds may be allowed to “play down” by parental and league request after player evaluation session (tryouts) and approval by District and Little League International. Coaches reinforce the fundamentals of baseball and softball, team play and sportsmanship.

Juniors (Ages 13-14) BASEBALL and SOFTBALL

The Junior League is designed to encourage players to continue to play and improve their skill development. The Juniors teams play against teams from other Juniors programs in our District. New rules are introduced, such as lead offs, pick offs and balks. In the baseball division, the game is played on a field with 90-feet between bases and a 60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance.
