CONCESSION STAND INFORMATION 

 

Thank you very much for volunteering for a shift at one of DRALL’s Concession Stands. These Concession Stands are an integral part of fundraising for DRALL. Your help and support allow us to keep our registration costs low, while still providing your child with an amazing Little League experience. To ensure that each shift runs smoothly, Concession Stand volunteers and substitutes are should read / review the full Concession Stand Policy / Procedure manual, which is located inside each snack stand prior to the start of their shift. 

GRILL SAFETY – AMERICAN FIELD 

➢ For safety reasons, the only person standing by the Grill should be the person grilling. 

➢ At American Field, children cannot be around or near the grill area, to include anywhere on the wooden decking surrounding the grill. 

GENERAL INFORMATION 

Only Board personnel and Concession Stand shift workers are permitted in the Concession Stand at any time. Please arrange care for your child/children prior to your shift, as children are NOT allowed in the Concession Stand. There are no exceptions. 

➢ The “home” team manager is responsible for opening the Concession Stand and the “visiting” team manager is responsible for locking up the Concession Stand. 

➢ Each shift will have three (3) volunteers, with the exception of the Saturday @ 8:30 a.m. shift, which will have two (2) volunteers. 

➢ Concession Stand coverage for any rescheduled game (due to rain out, time limit, etc.) is the responsibility of the originally scheduled Concession Stand team. 

➢ Missed shifts (whether it be by the parent volunteer or the hired sub) will result in that family’s Concession Stand deposit check being cashed. 

➢ Fire extinguishers and first aid kits are located in each Concession Stand. Please locate them upon your arrival. 

NO FREE FOOD 

Volunteers, subs, and families of volunteers / subs DO NOT eat for free. 

➢ No one eats for free with the exception of the umpire, who can receive a free meal and drink(s) post game. Additionally, the game umpires can receive unlimited drinks during the game that they umpire. 

CONCESSION STAND SUBSTITUTES (SUBS) 

➢ A parent has the option of hiring a sub to work their shift for $35.00. 

➢ Only substitutes on the approved DRALL Substitute List may be hired as subs. 

➢ It is strongly encouraged that you confirm with your hired sub the day before the shift. 

➢ Parents must provide cash payment to their hired sub at the start of the shift. 

➢ A 3-person shift may have a maximum of two (2) subs; however, one of the subs MUST be an adult (over the age of 21). The exception to the rule is if Victoria and Dasi are hired to work a shift – then the 3rd person requirement is waived. 

➢ A 2-person shift may have a maximum of one (1) sub. 

CONCESSION STAND VOLUNTEERS / SUBS 

➢ A sub may only be chosen from the approved Substitute List. A sub that is NOT on the approved Substitute List cannot be hired. You can obtain the Substitute List from your Team Parent. 

Children are NOT allowed in the Concession Stand at any time. Please arrange care for your child/children prior to your shift. 

➢ The grill must be operated by a sub who has been approved to work the grill (please see the sub list for those who have been approved). 

VOLUNTEER / SUB ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIME 

➢ All volunteers / subs should arrive 5 minutes early for their shift., with each shift beginning 30 minutes prior to the start of a game (this means arrive 35 minutes prior to the start of a game).
