FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  How old does my child need to be to play?
A:   For our Spring Softball 2020 season, girls between "League Age" 6 and 16.  Our divisions are:7
Pioneers 7-9*
Majors 9-12
Juniors 13-14
Seniors 15-16

*6 year olds with one year t-ball experience will be eligible to register.

Q:  When does registration occur?
A:  Registration for Spring Ball is now open. It will close January 31, 2020. The Spring Season runs from early March through to the beginning of June.

Q:  What are the registration fees?
A: Spring Season Softball registration fee is $125.  Our early bird pricing of $99 is available until December 31, 2019.

Q:  What does my registration fee include?
A:  Your Spring registration fee includes shirts, caps/visors, team helmets, face masks & bats. You will need to supply a glove, softball pants, trainers or cleats, and a fun loving attitude. Optional: your own helmet, face mask, bat, and advanced equipment.

Q:  How do I register more than one child?
A:  If you need to add another player to your registration order, click "My Account" before checking out to add a new participant.

Q:  Does my child need to tryout?
A:  Player evaluations are held for our Spring season during January/February for the league. Evaluations are used as a tool for sorting players into balanced teams. All registered players will be placed on a team.

When your player is registered you will receive an email closer to the evaluation date with all the details (time/place etc.) Players must attend at least one of the evaluation days to be placed on a team.  

Players are not evaluated for Fall Ball.

Q:  When will I be contacted by my new team manager?
A:  For our Spring Softball 2020 season, teams are drafted in late February and announced before Opening Day (March 7th).

Q:  When will games and practices be held during Spring Season Softball?
A. Spring Softball will meet at least twice a week or more depending on your manager. It is reasonable to expect at least one practice and one game a week.

Q:  Where are practices and games held?
A:  Practices are held at our softball field in behind Gomes Elementary School.  To the back and right of the Mission San Jose Little League Club House at Gomes Elementary (502 Lemos Ln, Fremont, CA 94539). FNLLGS Home games are also played at this field. Away game locations will be available from Managers when the schedule is set for the season. In seasons past we have played in San Jose and Evergreen.  It is likely we will again this year.

Q:  How do I volunteer to become a Team manager, Umpire, Board Member etc?
A:  If you are interested in being considered for a role as a manager or coach, Umpire, Board Member, etc., first and foremost thank you! Please sign up for a volunteer role by contacting the league.

Q:  I signed up but decided not to play, how can I request a refund?
A:  Please email us to request a refund prior to the first game of the season.  We issue refunds by check as our online system does not support credit/debit refunds.  Once players have been drafted to a team, registration fees are non-refundable.  

Q:  When will a schedule be available?
A:   For our Spring 2020 season, schedules will be distributed by your team manager late February.
