Porterville Little League is based in Porterville, CA and provides youth baseball for children living in Porterville, Springville, Strathmore, Terra Bella, Ducor and Poplar.  We are an organization that is about community.

From Opening Ceremonies to the final game of the season, parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, and even strangers turn out to the Little League Fields to watch a bunch of kids having fun playing baseball.  Kids get to know each other even though they go to different schools or may just live a few doors apart from each other.  They learn to work together as a team, as well as build individual character.

More than just the kids, it is a community of dedicated adults.  From the managers and coaches who selflessly devote their time to helping kids learn a sport, to the umpires who sweat their way through the season, to the parents who staff the concession stand, to the board of directors who work diligently to ensure kids have the equipment and facilities to play, it takes everyone to make Porterville Little League succeed in our community.

Little League is not about building your child into the next major leaguer or winning a scholarship.  Little League is about getting kids off the couch, outdoors and playing with other kids their age.  Little League is about community coming together to support their kids, whether it is by coaching, volunteering, or just cheering them on.  The kids don't care who won or lost, they forget that minutes after the game is over.  They just want to play.

It takes volunteers to support an organization such as Little League.  Do your child, and your neighbors' children, a favor by being a willing participant in whatever capacity you can.  Teach your child that volunteering is a good thing that supports an organization you believe in.
