Hello Tigersharks Families,

As you are probably aware, there had recently been proposed legislation in many states, including California, calling for the ban of youth tackle football.  And although this legislation was pulled from the table this year, there have been and continue to be constant negative and false information put out in the media with regards to the perceived dangers of playing football.  Despite the fact that football leagues across the nation, including ours, have made drastic changes to how the game is played and taught, there is no disputing the fact that enrollment numbers for youth football have been declining as a result of this repeated falsehoods being distributed by the anti-football campaign. 

Numbers are down in every organization within Peninsula Pop Warner and all of the other leagues as well.  This reality has caused all of us to re-evaluate our own organizations and how we do things so that we can continue to have our programs around for future generations. 

With that said, I'm excited to announce that the Pacifica Tigersharks and the West Bay Rams have decided to join forces and create a partnership for the 2018 season!  What does this mean? Well, for this season, a number of West Bay board members will be joining our board.  Additionally, they will be bringing their football coaches and players to Pacifica to join us in what should be one of the best seasons we've had in years.  We'll be welcoming back many people that were once part of the Tigersharks organization, such as Coach Siaki Hunkin.  I'm very excited by this decision and I hope you are too.  We will work together to share ideas, create new ones and help one another come back even stronger in 2019!

With the influx of more players, we expect rosters to take shape very quickly.  For those that have still not yet signed up, I would encourage you to do so right away because we will be closing rosters earlier than we typically do.  It's already late in the game, so please do not miss this exciting opportunity by waiting until the last minute to register.
