COVID 19

Points of reference regarding the precautions against Covid-19

Saddle Brook Little League are providing re-fillable sanitizer spray bottles as well as equipment cleanser spray bottles which will be in the Equipment Box at each field. Also, Saddle Brook Little League will be designating a section outside the dugouts to ensure social distancing.  These sections will be roped off for players only.

Please let the Board know if/when they need to be refilled.
Athletes, Parents & Coaches must use hand sanitizer before walking onto the field.

Athletes should have a personal water bottle; there shall be no sharing of water bottles or use of a Team water cooler.

Coaches/Volunteers are required to wear a face-covering at all practices and games.

Parents/Guardians not permitted on the field or on the bench/dugout.

Athletes are encouraged to wear a face-covering to the field and leaving, but no athlete is required to wear one during game play.

Coaches are responsible for sanitizing equipment following practice and games

Baseballs are to be switched often, or team use their own baseballs to play

Example: Team A,  when pitching uses the baseball from their dugout, And team B will do the same
Catchers Equipment:  Shin guards & chest protectors should be sanitized after each use.
Since these go over a player’s clothes, they may be shared within the same day.  If you need/want a second set to carry around, let me know.

Catcher’s Mask: Mask should be sanitized after each use.  However, catcher masks should NOT be shared on the same day.

Saddle brook little league will have extra catcher masks to use if needed.

Batting Helmet: Most players have their own bats

Saddle Brook Little League is independent from the Township of Saddle Brook and not affiliated with the Schools so if a player is absent from school they are allowed to participate in Little League that night, obviously assuming they are otherwise healthy to do so.
However, parents should be responsible and if the player is not feeling well, they should stay home.

There is one exception for students under quarantine.

Quarantine Players: Any student who has been asked by the School to quarantine may not participate in Little league until the quarantine has been lifted.
This is for specific students who have been asked to quarantine because they have had possible contact with a positive COVID case.  When a School has chosen to go remote or virtual that is not considered quarantine.

Ex: Long School decides to go all-virtual because there are numerous positives in the school.  Any Long student is allowed to participate in Little League (as long as the student was not specifically asked to quarantine).
