On behalf of the Canon-Mac Inline Hockey Association (CMIHA), we would like to welcome you to the Association and thank you for helping support the tremendous growth we have experienced
The workload to collect fees, order uniforms, arrange for rink time, work with the league, etc., required considerable time and effort that left little time to grow the organization. So, in the early part of 2011, a few parents got together and tossed around the idea of forming a board of directors to help take Canon-Mac Inline Hockey to the next level. As a result, the CHIMA was formed as a 501(c)3 non-profit that is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).
CMIHA is a Volunteer organization…and we need volunteers…
Nothing happens on its own. To make this a first class organization, we need the dedication and help of you, the parents. If you would like to volunteer in one or more of the following areas, please contact any of the Board members.
- End of Year Banquet and Awards – For the last couple years, we have held an end of the year banquet at a Southpointe hotel which features a buffet dinner and a celebration for each team including pictures from the year. Please take pictures throughout the year so that we have some of every child to put together for everyone to view.We need a volunteer to chair the committee and other volunteers to help plan the event. So for all of the aspiring party planners out there, this one is for you!!
- The best part is how much the kids love to see how well they did!!!! We need a volunteer for each team.
- Updating the Website - There will be a lot of updates that need to be made on the web site, throughout the season. If you are able to help out in this area, please let us know.
- A couple of other things to look out for…
- Our goal is to have team pictures taken at the beginning of the season and provide parents the opportunity to purchase buttons, pictures, etc., if they so choose. More information will be coming once a vendor has been selected.
- CM Inline Apparel – we will be sending you information with the opportunity to purchase CM Inline hats, shirts, bags, pants, you name it!!! If you can wear it, we can put a logo on it. Expect information and order forms soon.
Thank you again for joining our organization. We are still young and growing, but are aiming to be one of, if not THE largest inline program in the PIRHL. Your help and support will go a long way to making that happen. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the board members with ideas, suggestions, and yes, more importantly, your willingness to volunteer!!!
