Volunteers

Little League® is an organization designed to build good citizens. It is a program of leadership, preparing today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders. At the local level, Little League® relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly. At HVLL, we are always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate our league's events and activities.

Volunteer FAQ

  • Why should I volunteer?
All parents of children involved in HVLL are strongly encouraged to volunteer. Not only does it help us accomplish the seemingly endless list of tasks required for a successful season, it also provides you the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment.
  • Who can volunteer?
Anyone can apply to become a volunteer.  Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them!  Volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends and neighbors.  Any community member who has a keen interest in the safety, well-being and overall development of children may apply.
On rare occasions, Little League®, through District Administrators and our Board of Directors, may deny individuals the privilege of volunteering for reasons, past or present, which may be detrimental to the positive development of young people, other volunteers, and/or the organization as a whole.  When you apply to become a volunteer, you give HVLL the authorization to conduct necessary background checks.
  • How Do I Become A Volunteer?
It’s easy!  Just complete the volunteer application form and we will do the rest.  Volunteer forms need to be completed and resubmitted each year.
  • What Can I Volunteer To Do?
No experience is required to become a volunteer. Most of the volunteer opportunities require little or no training. HVLL will provide you with any necessary training (as well as support and encouragement), as needed. The best volunteers are those who are able to bring added enjoyment to the game simply be themselves. While there are plenty of opportunities at the games, there are many, many behind-the-scenes areas as well.
