McCabe was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD.  She played all her youth soccer days through the then Sioux Falls Soccer Association and Dakota Gold Soccer Club, before going on to be the first NCAA Division I women’s soccer player from the state.  McCabe played collegiately at Creighton University where she was an all-conference performer and team captain.  Her senior year, she captained her team to the program’s first conference title and first NCAA National Tournament berth. 

Upon graduating, McCabe began her career as a college soccer coach, spending one year at NCAA Division I, University of Tennessee-Martin, before going back to Creighton to coach.  From there, she became the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at the University of South Dakota (then Division II).  In 2009, she accepted the same position at St. Cloud State University (Division II).  McCabe received coach of the year honors at each school and guided both programs to their best seasons in program history.  

While coaching at SCSU, McCabe also became the Director of Coaching for the Central MN Youth Soccer Association.  Wanting to spend more time with her family, she resigned from SCSU and took on the CMYSA position full time. While with CMYSA, McCabe helped double the competitive numbers and expand the recreational programming through a commitment to supporting volunteer parent coaches and streamlining communication. She also spent a lot of time developing a curriculum for each age group, as well as supplemental training opportunities for those players looking for year-round soccer opportunities.

McCabe holds a USSF 'D' and an NSCAA Advanced National license.  She has worked with preschoolers through college players in camp, clinic, and team settings for over 15 years.
