Coach Spotlight: Kenny Wallace

Coach Spotlight: Kenny Wallace

As we gear up for another exciting season at New Castle Little League, we are proud to kick off our Coach Spotlights by recognizing one of our most dedicated and long-standing leaders, Coach Kenny Wallace.

Coach Kenny will be leading the Senior Softball Razorbacks this season and brings with him over 20 years of coaching experience within our league. His journey into coaching began after a car accident ended his own baseball career. When his youngest daughter expressed interest in playing softball, Coach Kenny redirected his passion for the game into coaching, dedicating his time and energy to helping young athletes grow both on and off the field.

Growing up, Coach Kenny played baseball at New Castle Little League, Delaware City, and William Penn, gaining experience at every position. That well-rounded background continues to shape his coaching approach today.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Coach Kenny is most excited about the opportunity to compete for a State Championship. While winning is important, the lessons he teaches his players go far beyond the scoreboard.

One of the core messages he emphasizes is resilience. As Coach Kenny says, “It’s okay to make a mistake. It’s what you do after the mistake that people remember.” He believes softball is a mental game and works hard to build his players’ confidence by finding positives in every situation.

His practices reflect that mindset. Coach Kenny focuses on preparation at a championship level while keeping practices fun and energetic. Whether it’s singing, dancing, or simply keeping things light, his goal is to help players stay loose and confident. His philosophy is simple: practice loose, play loose, and handle pressure with confidence when it matters most.

If the Razorbacks had a walk-up song this season, it would be “Dreams and Nightmares” by Meek Mill, a fitting anthem for a team focused on intensity, belief, and big goals.

As spring approaches, Coach Kenny is most excited about getting back on the field and competing with his team once again.

We are incredibly grateful to Coach Kenny Wallace for his more than two decades of service to our league and for the lasting impact he continues to make on our players and families.

Thank you, Coach Kenny, for everything you do for New Castle Little League.
