District 14 administrator, Bruce Marcellus, has announced that Newark American and Newark National Little Leagues have merged into a single league, called Newark Little League. Their waiver application to merge was presented and approved by the Charter Committee, and is effective for the 2019 season. They will begin operation as a single league immediately.
This is good news for Little League baseball in Newark and District 14, and will allow the leagues to pool resources to improve and grow Little League Baseball in Newark. The new league is working on approving their constitution and electing a board.
