District 14 would like to congratulate Newark American Little League alum Will Traynor, son of district staff member and umpire Bud Traynor. Will attended the 2019 five week Wendelstedt professional umpire school, and was just selected Most Outstanding Student. Will played Little League through his teen years, and also played at Newark Memorial High School and UC Santa Barbara. The Wendelstedt school is the only private umpire school recognized by Major League and Minor League baseball, with some top graduates moving on to the Minor League umpire placement camp. This one week camp is used to determine the graduate's league and placement level as they begin their career in professional baseball.
Way to go Will, and congratulations to the proud dad!!
