Softball update

In Spring 2018, Burlington Little League SOFTBALL and Canton Little League SOFTBALL will officially be merging into one program aptly named CENTRAL VALLEY SOFTBALL. Not Canton, not Burlington, not Harwinton, but all three towns together as one entity.

The decision to join forces was made to enhance the overall experience for your players, both from game day standpoint as well as skill development. By combining the two programs, there will be more teams, which means more girls and more opportunities to play. They will learn that competition sharpens their skills, and earning playing time comes through hard work, hustle and good sportsmanship. So we are all very excited to offer this new program to you and your player.

This also means more coaches and collective softball/baseball knowledge. Indeed, we are lucky to have a number of former collegiate softball players and minor-league baseball players contributing to our program. And this offseason, we have our Power Hour pitching/hitting programs (weekdays starting Feb. 13) our Weekend Winter Workouts (Saturdays starting Feb. 17) and they will feature several of these new faces. Please see the Canton Little League website for information on these events.

There will still be two Little League websites (for the baseball programs), and we will continue to have softball information on the Burlington website as needed, but to register for spring softball please visit cantonll.com.  Registration for the spring season will only be processed through the Canton Little League website and is open NOW.

You can also visit (and please join/share) our new Facebook page: where the program - AND YOU -- can post stories, photos, videos, news, etc., about your players!

Player evaluations will take place at Mandell JCC Valley Sports Center in Canton on March 3. More information will be forthcoming, but we strongly encourage ALL participating girls to be present. This year is especially critical with the merger and getting to know as many new faces as possible.
