Player News - February 2017

Palo Verde Families, welcome to the 2017 season. We are excited to see so many new players joining us for the first time as well as all our returning players. This is going to to be the best season yet! Please read the following information carefully as there is a lot of important updates in the following email.

Evaluations
Evaluations are scheduled for Friday, February 17th from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday, February 18th from 10am - noon and 1pm - 3pm at Palo Verde Park on Field 2, next to the snack bar. Evaluations are REQUIRED for all players Minors Division and above and all players MUST participate in 2 of the 3 evaluations. All players evaluating must be practice ready with cleats, cup and glove. Helmets and bats will be provided if your player does not already have their own.

**IMPORTANT**Your player is NOT allowed on the field if we do not have a current medical release fully completed and on file for them this year. This means, if you have not been to any paperwork verification dates to coplete these forms, you need to plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before evaluations are scheduled to start. If you do not, your player will not be allowed on the field. Evaluations will start promptly at 6pm and any late players will not be considered as a completed evaluation.

Paperwork and Residency Verification
We will be accepting any missing paperwork and payments during the evaluation dates, however our priority during this time is to get the players verified and on the field for their evaluations.  Therefore, there will be two lines at each event.  One line for parents who need to turn in any missing paperwork and one line for players to get verified and on the field. If you are turning in paperwork and a medical release, please go to the paperwork line and send your player with his completed medical release to the player verification line.  Once ALL players have been verified and are on the field we will begin to take people from the paperwork verification line. These events can be quite chaotic at the beginning so we are sending these instructions in hopes of eliminating any confusion during this process.  For players missing any verification forms, you will be receiving a separate reminder email from us individually letting you know exactly what we are missing.

Practice
Practice is scheduled to start March 1st.  At this time we have not rostered any teams so we do not know what days the practices will be, but you can expect 3 practices per week for the TBall, Coach Pitch, and Minors divisions, and up to 5 practices per week for the Majors divisions and above.  Once evaluations have are over, teams will be rostered and you will be receiving a call from your Team Manager to go over all of that information.  From that point on your Team Manager will appoint a Team Parent that will be your initial point of contact for the remainder of the season.  All players should wear cleats to all practices and games and male players should wear a cup to all practices and games.  Your Team's Manager will decide your team name at which time they will let you know which color baseball pants, socks, and belt to purchase. The league will provide your player's jerseys and hats. All players will need their own gloves. The league will provide each team with baseball helmets, 1 set of catchers gear and baseball hats as needed. You are able to purchase your own equipment for your player, but it must meet Little League International's guidelines.

All practice locations will be at Palo Verde Park or Vista Del Prado Park.
