Renegades victory in Softball Majors concludes fall season
Bull City LL's fall season completed with a flurry of close championship games in the last week. Softball Majors was the final title game, with the #1 seed Renegades holding off the #2 Lady Devils 18-17 on Thursday night on Field 2.
The Renegades finished the season 7-4-1 while the Lady Devils were 6-4-1.
In the National division, the Cubs and Phillies matched off in a exciting affair Monday night. The two teams were the class of the division all season, posting combined records of 16-4-2. Brayden Mottola set the tone in the championship early, pitching two innings and striking out six.
In the American division, the second-seeded Yankees won a thrilling 16-15 game over the fourth-seeded Mets. Charlie Glenn hit a walk off double in the bottom of the sixth for the win. The Mets had won their first two playoff games, taking out the top-seeded Pirates to advance to the championship.
The Twins won three games in the Machine Pitch division to win the championship. The final was a 12-8 victory over the top-seeded Braves with Miles Walls hitting a key home run. The Twins caught fire in the postseason, winning their three games by a 50-13 margin.
In Rookie, the top-seeded Orioles finished their strong season with a 15-11 win over the White Sox in the championship.
The Softball Minors title game was the most decisive of the championship games, with the top-seeded Huskies defeating the Dare Devils 14-4. BCLL's softball Minors teams had a strong campaign, winning every game against their SDLL counterparts.
