 NOMINATIONS FOR SWLL POSITIONS:
President

1-)
Carlos Lee
I am running for Southwest Little League as President. In 2019 as I signed up my son for T-Ball I was informed they were in need of coaches. I decided to step up and coach t-ball. From that moment on I have been volunteering and coaching at Southwest LL. In the fall of 2019 I was voted on to the BOD as equipment manager.  After being on the board of directors for 2 years  I was asked to run for president and was elected as President in the Fall of 2021. My intent is to bring up Southwest Little league to its full potential and give the kids the best baseball experience that they deserve.

2-) Jesse Sanchez.
I have been coaching baseball since 2011(TBall-Intermediate). I have been umpiring youth baseball since 2012. In that time I have also coached Youth Football (Ages 6-10), Youth Soccer (Ages 6-17), Softball age
s (6-12), and Adult volleyball. I retired from the US Navy in 2017 after 20 years of Service. While in the service I was lucky enough to go to classes and clinics on coaching youth sports. In that time I was part of several Non-profit committees. I have been coaching at SWLL since spring of 2014. I have been the Umpire in Charge for 3 years. I strongly believe in the Little League Pledge, fair play, and following rules. I am running for SWLL President to ensure that our league does not lose its Charter. I coach, umpire, and am part of the Board at SWLL because I believe that we have to guide the children; all the children, not just my own children in order for them to positively grow and mature not only physically but also emotionally via sports. In turn I believe that positive growth will help our community now and in the future.

Treasurer

1-) Omar Manzarez

I've always looked at baseball as more than a sport. As a kid I played it as a fun game and it was also a place where I met life-friends and felt the butterflies of a big moment. As a teenager, It was my center of expression and a place where I learned confidence. As a young adult, it was the place where I became resilient and learned about humility. As an adult, I was blessed to experience baseball as a job and to enjoy the cheers and boo's of a big crowd. As a parent of an 8 year old, it is a special place where I can share my love for my son.

I have friends and family involved in baseball who have shared ideas of their experiences as volunteers and I feel I can help our league by implementing funding ideas, fundraising activities, outreach, and operating systems that can help our league grow and keep providing the safe haven a baseball little league is. I'll be thrilled to be considered as a nominee for the position of treasurer.

2-) Yolanda Peterson

I have served SWLL as a former Treasurer, Team Mom, assisted in Concessions and Player Agent. At this time, I am running for SWLL Treasurer. It is important for families to know where their registration fees are going. It is important to generate financial reports and be tra
nsparent with all parties involved. I am very meticulous, organized and able to communicate appropriately and respectfully.

1-) Rudy Lopez
Has been part of Southwest Little League since his son, Bruno, started t-ball in Fall 2017.  When Rudy is not assisting SWLL raise funds, he remains active in San Ysidro as the current President of the San Ysidro School Board, Chairman of the San Ysidro Planning Group, Chairman-Select of the Border View YMCA Board of Advisors and as a Board member of the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce.  Rudy plans to use his experience in being an advocate for the children of our community to excel as Player Agent.  Rudy hopes that one day Bruno will lead his team to either Williamsport or Washington, PA.

2-) Pete Peterson
I have been a part of Southwest Little League since 2014. I have been coaching since T-Ball and now my son is in Minor A. I have served SWLL as a former Player Agent. At this time, I am running for SWLL Player Agent as I will ensure only players in our boundaries will be able to play. It is important for our league to follow rules and by not following rules this severely impacts not only our parents but our players. I am a Navy Veteran who is very active in my community. I have also been coaching adult softball since 2007.
