Fall ball registration is OPEN!!!
Registration for Freedom Little League fall ball is open. Details can be found below in a message from our league president:
Dear Freedom Little League Families,
I hope you and your family are healthy and managing to navigate the start of the school year.
I'm writing to let you know that registration for Freedom Little League Fall Ball is now open. You can register right here on the Freedom Little League website.
Before registering, please read the following points:
-DON'T PAY YET. We don't want to take payment until we're certain that games can be played. Select to pay by "Check" rather than "Credit Card" and no fee will be collected.
-Practices may start as early as Sept. 8, the Tuesday after Labor Day, so please register soon.
-To ensure the safety of the kids, volunteers, and families, there will be strict adherence to the District 12 COVID-19 protocols (https://tshq.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=2068962).
-After significant discussion, the Freedom Little League board is cautiously optimistic that, by following these protocols, we can have a safe fall season. However, every family should assess the potential risks, and your participation will ultimately be at your own risk.
-Since we're not yet collecting registration fees, you can register even if you're still undecided about playing.
-If city fields remain restricted to practices only or if there are not enough local leagues to compete against, the season could be suspended.
-The Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions are FREE since they won't be playing games. Following District 12 guidelines, they will be participating in clinics only.
-WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Please consider volunteering and let us know if you're willing to manage or coach minors or majors or if you're willing to help with Tee Ball or Coach Pitch clinics.
-One final IMPORTANT registration note: 12-year-olds (born before 9/1/2008) should sign up for "Intermediate (50/70)". We'd normally be using the 2021 age chart for Fall Ball, but because the spring season was canceled we're allowed to use the 2020 age chart. However, the Sports Connect website won't allow us to register 12-year-olds in Majors. We won't actually have an Intermediate (50/70) league so we'll know those players should be in Majors.
I'm excited to get some of our Freedom families back out on the fields. But I'm sure many of you also share my concerns and reservations. We want/need our kids to get back to some pre-pandemic normalcy, but we know that could bring risks to them and us. But now, we're much more knowledgeable about where those risks are and how to mitigate them.
So, we move forward. We do our best to stay safe. We try to play ball.
