Dear Grace Football and Cheer Families,
I wanted to take a moment to welcome you to the 2019 season. The off season has quickly gone by and we are excited for the opportunity to once again serve you. Monday we will have 220 participants on our fields gearing up for what we hope to be another successful season.
220 is a significant number for us. The cheer program has essentially doubled in size and we have added two teams to the football field.
We have been blessed with a great bunch of men and women to lead our teams. They have dedicated endless hours preparing for the season to give each of our boys and girls the best possible experience. If you have an opportunity, take a moment to thank them for their dedication.
With growth, comes change. Some things may be organized slightly different than previous years. Cheer will have two teams and because there is a 6/1 ratio between football and cheer, a cheer team may cheer for a different football team every week. A couple of our football divisions have multiple teams this year and there is a chance some kids might not be on the same team as last year. This hits close to home for my family and I. Last year both of our boys had the pleasure of being under the guidance of Coach Mike Zele. It was a tremendous experience for them. Based on physiological change and league needs, both of them will be moving to new teams....leaving a Super Bowl winning team. If this is the case with you, embrace the challenge and opportunity for your son or daughter. We have awesome coaches for each team. Be supportive of their leadership and please give them the ability to do their job effectively.
At Grace, we believe it is imperative that we build a culture whose primary purpose is to bring glory to God. A lot of this culture building falls on the shoulders of our coaches, but parents provide an avenue for them to do this. Encourage your son or daughter to fall under the guidance and leadership of their coaches.
