Making the game SAFER with Defend Your Head!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROSCOE/ROCKTON JR. INDIANS FOOTBALL PARTNERS WITH DEFEND YOUR HEAD TO ADD THEIR PROTECH TECHNOLOGY TO ALL HELMETS

Youth Football Program To Provide Cutting Edge Safety Technology for Players

June 15, 2018 (Philadelphia, PA) – Roscoe/Rockton Jr. Indians joins over 100 universities, high schools, and youth organizations to partner with Defend Your Head to add their ProTech technology to all helmets used by athletes participating in their youth football programs. ProTech is a patented soft shell which is an add on to new or existing helmets to absorb, reduce and deflect the energy before it impacts the helmet’s outer shell.

Andrew West, VP of RRL, “We felt as an organization that the safety of our players must come first. We looked at the helmets that are new to the market and elected to go with the new technology using Defend Your Head.  Taking steps to make the sport safer is always the right thing to do.  This is one more step our organization has made to make this a safer and more inclusive sport overall.”

Defend Your Head’s VP, National Business Development, John Zeglinski, “ All coaches and parents want the safest playing environment possible for our children. ProTech reduces force at contact, whether it be the dreaded ‘big hit,’ or the consistent sub-concussive blows that take place in practice or on game day.” Roscoe/Rockton’s commitment to player safety was very evident from the start. They immediately recognized the safety benefits of ProTech and moved quickly to purchase ProTechs for all their players. We are very excited to add Roscoe/Rockton to our roster of teams that are making their players safer wearing ProTech.”

Penn State University released a three year study that indicates that ProTech, the exclusive soft shell helmet technology was a primary factor in reducing traumatic head impacts by over 70% to the Nittany Lion players tested. The Penn State University research team combined the ProTech soft shell technology with special helmet sensors to monitor collision impact forces and to collect valuable data from every practice. Sensors in the helmets measured impacts of significant G-forces in real time, as well as rotational aspects of each impact, and their location on the helmet.

The compelling results can be seen here in a video summarizing the independent study.

“ProTech is changing the conversation around football and safety,” stated Defend Your Head Founder, President and former NFL football player John Roman adding, “It’s our goal to make football a safer sport for players at all levels. ProTech has done independent lab testing for years that has produced significant reduction in force when using the ProTech versus helmets alone.”

Glenn Tilley, DYH’s Executive Chairman and CEO observed, “No other add-on safety technology company has subjected itself to this level of independent testing rigor. We are not aware of any add-on technology that has significantly improved the force management attributes of a helmet to the extent of the ProTech. The recent Penn State Study underscores this performance representation. With the responsible and appropriate concern by parents to improve player safety, we believe it is time parents know solutions exists and ProTech is one of them.”
