District 30 Coaches Clinic

Clinic Director: Tim O'Donoghue has served as a high school/youth baseball coach for 48 years. He won back-to-back State titles in Little League and captured the CIF Championship while coaching at Tustin HS. Coach O'D is the owner/director of the Orange County Baseball Camp. He served as a school principal for 23 years in Tustin Unified School District.

Goal for the Clinic: Whether you are experienced or just starting out, we can all learn! The goal is to become a better "TEACHER" of the game and come away with some new ideas/drills that you can use with your team.

Cost: FREE! All speakers are donating their time.

*WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 14th -- TEE BALL/COACH PITHCH/ROOKIE COACHES

*START TIME: Registration at 6:00 PM Class starts 6:30 PM Sharp

This session will cover everything you need to know to be a successful teacher at this level. If a coach gets off to a good start then they will have the confidence and desire to keep coaching.

Topics include team organization, practice organization, hitting, base running, basic defense skills. You will be given practice plans that you can use immediately.

* WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21st --- A/AA/AAA/MAJORS/INTERMEDIATE/JUNIORS COACHES

* START TIME Registration 6:00 PM Class Starts at 6:30 PM Sharp

The goal of this class is to make you a better "teacher of the game" and learn some new drills/skills that you can use immediately on the field. This class will cover the qualities of a good coach, tips for running an effective practice, skills/drills for each of the 4 areas of the game: playing catch, throwing strikes, smart and aggressive base running, butting the ball in play (hitting/bunting). Since baseball is meant to be fun, time will be spent on a couple of games for practice that the kids will really enjoy.
