Softball Evaluations Sunday 2/9/2020

The evaluation schedule is below. SDLL strongly urges your player to attend during her assigned age group below:

League Age  6, 7 , 8 (birth years 2011 - 2013) Start Time: 1:00 PM

League Age  9,10 (birth years 2009 - 2010) Start Time: 1:30 PM

League Age 11, 12 (birth years 2007 - 2008) Start Time: 2:00 PM

We will be utilizing the Championship Turf Soccer Field at Herndon Park and the batting cage for baseball field #2 (batting cage closest to the Championship Turf Soccer Field).  SDLL softball players and families are to go to the Herndon Park concession stand area as they arrive. During this time, a sticker is provided to the players by SDLL Player-Agents and other volunteers for the player to wear that clearly identifies the player’s name and league age.

We will also have the medical release form available if you have not completed the form online. We strongly encourage you to bring the Little League Medical Release form completed, to save on time. If you have been contacted for a School Enrollment Form or a waiver letter, you can bring these to the check in area as well. We will also be providing the 2020 Dick's Sporting Goods SDLL Shop Weekend (save the date 2/21-23) 20% OFF COUPON and other items of interest to families during the process.

Once the evaluation registration process is complete for each player, ALL players will participate in 6 evaluation stations. These stations include pitching, hitting (coach pitch in a batting cage), outfield (tracking/catching pop-ups), infield (catching/throwing from 2B, SS and/or 3B to 1B), speed (timed run), and athleticism (throwing, playing catch).  The player’s overall evaluation is then utilized as just one of a number of factors used in assigning players to each division.  Players should wear appropriate clothing to perform all skills, given the weather conditions.  Players must bring a glove.  SDLL will make available various size bats and helmets, if your player needs one.  Coach volunteers will be on hand to evaluate all players. There will be multiple volunteer coaches at each station during the evaluation process, and other volunteers available to answer any questions.

Again, if not submitted, please bring the completed Medical Release Form with you and provide to the volunteers at the Concession Stand Area. If you have not paid, please log in again to pay or bring a check made out to South Durham LL to evaluations (providing the check to the Player-Agent volunteer at the concession stand area).  Registration payment must be complete in order for a player to be assigned to a team.

Any questions regarding evaluations, registration or payment, please email: [email protected].
