Indiantown Warriors 2018 Fall Rec Soccer (2001-10)

The Indiantown Community Athletics Association's recreational soccer program, the Indiantown Warriors, provides children 9u thru 18u (birth years 2001-2010) the opportunity to have fun as they play and learn the game of soccer in the community.  Children and teenagers in our Recreational program will gain a better understanding of the game of soccer, and develop dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending skills.  They will also create new relationships, and become part of a community club.  All teams are coached by volunteer parent coaches, some of which are USSF licensed, who donate their time to help the community's youth. We are partnering with Martin United to play in FYSA events.

Fall Recreational Soccer Program
Players will be grouped by year of birth in two-year age increments, gender specific as numbers allow.  Players will be placed on teams which will compete in the Treasure Coast Soccer League (TCSL) against other local Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) affiliated soccer clubs.  League play begins mid-September and runs through early December, culminating with the World Cup recreational soccer tournament at Halpatiokee Park in early December.

Program Description - 12u and younger
The 9u thru 12u (birth years 2007-2010) age groups training format emphasizes enhanced skills development.  The focus of practice is the development of individual fundamental soccer skills, including passing, dribbling, receiving the ball, and moving without the ball.  Games provide players with an opportunity to use the skills they have acquired, without placing importance on the results of the game.  Players must be allowed to make mistakes, without being chastised, so they can learn from them.

Per US Youth Soccer mandates, all FYSA affiliated clubs are not permitted to allow heading at the 12u age group and younger in recreational soccer.  Players born 2006 or later are not permitted to head the ball in training nor games.

Program Description - 13u and older
The 13u thru 18u (birth years 2001-2006) age groups are organized for traditional team play.  Practices are geared toward all skill levels, and games are played in the spirit of fun and healthy competition.  The league may play 7v7 or 9v9 to promote players to have more touches of the ball in a game environment.  The league may play full sided, 11v11.  Ultimately, the number of players per side will be determined by the number of players and teams registered.  Heading is allowed in these age groups.

Recreational Program Format
The Fall Recreation program will follow youth soccer guidelines mandated by US Soccer.
   * 10u - 7v7 (max) on a 10u field
   * 12u - 9v9 (max) on a 12u field

Martin United 2018-19 Competitive Program & tryout

Vision
To provide a community focused, family friendly soccer program that delivers technical, tactical and positional awareness for recreational players and competitive players.

Philosophy
To create an environment where mistakes are viewed as a learning opportunity for everyone by using guided discovery educational techniques. We see the game of soccer as a fun, problem solving game which challenges participants mental, physical, psychosocial, cognitive ability, technical skill and tactical awareness. Mastery of all is our goal. Participants are defined as players, officials, coaches and spectators / parents.

Competitive Mission Statement
Martin United will use on line learning experiences in addition to traditional coaching educators to deliver the club’s philosophy of creating developmentally appropriate training so players learn to develop while making the learning experience challenging and fun. Our prepared coaches will use guided discovery educational techniques to instill a team culture that achieves a “mastery” for respect, discipline, teamwork, dedication and commitment.

Core Values
Have fun; be prepared; win your 1 v 1; if you lose possession try to win it back; learn from mistakes; problem solve; speed of play; strength from team; simple decision making; positive attitude.

Richard Creber, Club President
“Ideally, I'd like families that buy in to our club philosophy and agree to uphold it. I’d rather be a smaller club with like minded families to develop our youth athletes in a positive way, rather than being focused on the number of participants and wins like other clubs in the area.”
