Cheerleading & Baton Twirling

About: This program is designed to introduce young athletes to the sport of Cheerleading and Baton Twirling; so that participants can develop essential motor skills, understand the importance of working with people as a team, build self-esteem, confidence, and provide the community with an enjoyable activity. 

Schedule(s): Cheer shall be conducted in conjunction with Basketball and Flag Football season (January thru May).  Baton Twirling clinics will be conducted during flag football season and into summer break (May thru June).

Performances:  Participants will be given the opportunity to perform as a group or individually, with the approval and direction of the activity director.  The following stunts/tricks/activities are not permitted when performing:

• Tosses
• Flips w/o hands
• Pyramids more than two high
• Provocative dance routines

Coaches:  Coaches must be 21 years or older and consent to a background check.  Assistant coaches must be 18 years or older.  These are volunteer positions only, coaches will not receive monetary compensation.  However, community service hour letters will be available upon request. 

Participants:  Participation ages range from 5 to 15 years old.  All participant’s parent/guardians must register via the program management system.  Cost for each season may differ.  The number of participants is dictated by the number of coaches available.  Ratio of participant and coaches must not exceed 15:1. 

Attire: All participants shall adhere to Faith Christian School rules, regulations, and policies.

Uniforms: Uniforms shall be approved by the activity director and must be in keeping with Faith Christian School Modesty policy.  The program will be responsible to ordering and distributing uniforms items.  Uniform cost shall be included in the registration fee.

Rules: All participants and coaches must adhere to all Faith Christian School’s standards, rules, policies, regulations, and expectations in addition to Federal and state rules, regulations, and policies.  See program handbook for more details.
