IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Let there be Football!
The NFL isn’t the only place for exciting football news! In 2019, we are pleased to announce the Montgomery Pop Warner football program will be merging with the Hillsborough Dukes!
“We have long admired Hillsborough for its commitment and leading reputation in the football community, as well as its player-first culture of teamwork, ethics and safety, which aligns with our own,” David Kristjanson, Commissioner Of Montgomery Football, said in a statement. “We believe that combining our organizations will deliver a range of compelling benefits for our players, families and overall future of youth football in each town.”
“This is a terrific opportunity for our families, providing them with access to a long-standing and local program with a similar culture of placing player safety first and teaching the fundamentals of a sport many of us love” Kristjanson added. “In addition, we believe the combination of Hillsborough and Montgomery will create a superior platform for our players to grow and have fun while our families maintain a sense of community.”
Hillsborough has invested significant money into new state-of-the-art protective equipment and practice equipment for its players. The practices will take place at nearby Hillsborough Elementary School on Rt. 206 and Amwell Road. Games will be played at Hillsborough high school and throughout central New Jersey.
As you will see, there are ZERO registrations fees! Football will have no cost to your family and we encourage everyone to sign up now!
As many already know, several Montgomery families already play in Hillsborough and have enjoyed a terrific experience. Montgomery coaches will be on the coaching staff and we will have an active role on the Hillsborough Dukes Board. We hope to see everyone on the field later this summer to we prepare for the 2019 season!
