The Jefferson Area Girls Softball (JAGS) Little League's mission is to provide a wholesome, healthy activity for the girls of Albemarle County using softball to instill teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. The JAGS strive to promote softball in Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville and to develop softball skills, promote mutual respect, discipline, and cooperation in a positive and esteem building environment. Our goal is to develop individuals into team players in a fun, SAFE, and enjoyable setting, thus enhancing their levels of performance and self-confidence.
The JAGS organization provides year-round softball play and instruction for girls ages 4-16 in Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville. We are a volunteer-run, 501c3 non-profit organization affiliated with Little League Baseball, Inc.
Softball players are assigned to teams based on age and ability (as assessed by coaches).
Ages 4-6 - T-ball (One practice and one game per week)
Ages 7-9 - Coach Pitch (One practice and one game per week)
Ages 10-12 - Slow Pitch (1-2 practices and 1- 2 games per week)
Ages 13-16 - Fast Pitch (2-3 practices and 2 games per week)
All JAGS Teams practice and play at local fields, including Azalea Park, Washington Park, and Albemarle High School.
