Parent Pledge

Are you the ideal sports parent?

Here are a few things to keep in mind as we sit on the sidelines

  • Do cheer your kids on.  Clap and say things like “way to go” or “Nice pass” or “Great Job. Please never criticize or yell at the players.

  • Do focus on the process and not the immediate results.  Avoid pressuring your child about winning or losing

  • Do remain in the spectator area (This is the opposite sideline of the players. No spectators should be at the ends of the field or on the players sideline.)

  • Do not shout or yell at the referee. The referee is the final authority on the field. Allow them to call the game while you cheer on your player

  • Do not argue with other parents on either team

  • Be a good role model

  • Respect and do not interfere with the coach

  • Do not shout instructions during practices or games (when parents are  yelling, the players cannot hear their coach and get conflicting instructions, which causes them to hesitate or second guess themselves)

If any adult is found not following these rules, they will be given one warning by either the referee or the soccer board member in attendance. If it continues,  the game will be stopped immediately, the spectator will be asked to leave.  We love our parents and we want you at all games and practices but we are all here to help them become better people and soccer players first and foremost. Let us all be the best role models to all the kids on the team and support and encourage the kids to play hard, learn the rules and have FUN!

PLEASE ALSO NOTE:
Soccer fields are an extension of a school environment therefore there should be NO pets on the field, NO Smoking, and NO cursing
