HOBOKEN SECTION 2 CHAMPS

Hoboken 10 defeated Wood-Ridge 8-7 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at four with Hoboken 10 batting in the top of the eighth when V L induced Cooper B to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Hoboken 10 was boosted by Nico M who went 4-for-5 at the plate.  Nico singled in the first, singled in the fifth, singled in the seventh, and singled in the eighth.Wood-Ridge captured the lead in the second inning. Wood-Ridge scored one run when Vsingled.In the bottom of the fourth inning, Wood-Ridge tied things up at four.  V drove in one when Vsingled.Nico led the Hoboken 10 to victory on the mound. The bulldog surrendered three runs on three hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one.  Nik M threw five and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.D M took the loss for Wood-Ridge. The hurler lasted one inning, allowing one hit and one run.Aaron K started the game for Hoboken 10. The ace went one and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on two hits Z S started the game for Wood-Ridge. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out oneHoboken 10 had 12 hits in the game.  Nico, Nik, Dominic V, and Patrick Q all managed multiple hits for Hoboken 10.  Nico went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Hoboken 10 in hits.Wood-Ridge racked up eight hits in the game.  V, S E, and C E all had multiple hits for Wood-Ridge.  V led Wood-Ridge with three hits in six at bats. Wood-Ridge stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. J B led the way with two.
