Ways to Serve
Volunteers may serve in the following roles. All coaches, mentors, and special event volunteers report directly to the Lead Coordinator of the program or activity.
Coach – Leads or assists a group of youth who participate in a DPAL league or athletic event. Volunteers between the ages of 11 and 18 may assist, but not lead, in this role.
Mentor – Leads or assists a group of youth who participate in a DPAL program or activity. Volunteers between the ages of 11 and 18 may assist, but not lead, in this role.
Special Events Volunteer – Assists the Lead Coordinator of a DPAL program with one-time or annual programs hosted by DPAL. These volunteers may help with the actual event (set-up or take-down of activities, tracking attendance, collecting forms, score keeping, etc.) or may serve on planning and steering committees involved with the event for which they are volunteering.
