Track (Grades K – 8)

Registration is open until February 28^th

• Fee is $100 per athlete

  • Payable by:

    • Check made out to SGCS Boosters sent to school office

    • Online payment through registration form

• Practices begin Monday March 2^nd

  • Practices will be 6:30 to 8 on Monday and Wednesday

    • Practice will end around 7:30 the first couple weeks

    • Practices will be held at the Reading Track

      • 1601 West Street, Reading, OH 45215

• Meets will be Fridays (7-8) and Saturdays (K-6); 7-8 have a couple meets on Saturdays

  • Meets are divided into four separate meets - K-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8

  • Meets begin March 28th and run to May 16^th

    • No meet on Easter weekend

  • K-2 and 3-4 meets

    • Athletes only compete against their grade

    • Every heat is awarded ribbons 1st through 8th places

    • Girls run first while boys participate in field events and then switch places

    • K-2 meets start at 8:30am and are completed by 10:30am

    • 3-4 meets start times vary between 10:30 and 11:30

    • Shoes

      • K-2 and 3-4 regular running shoes

  • 5-6 meets

    • Meets will not be timed this year

    • Girls run first while boys participate in field events and then switch places

    • Meets start times vary from between 2 and 2:30

    • Shoes

      • Regular running shoes

• 7-8 meets

  • No separation of grades, 7th & 8th compete against each other

    • Timed heats with qualifiers and finals for some races

    • Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places

    • Field events take place prior to concurrent running events (girls heats then boys heats of the same distance)

      • Meets start at 4:30 for field events and 6:30 for running events

    • Shoes

      • Spikes or regular running shoes

  • If we have at least 4 boys or 4 girls in a grade level, they can participate in a relay race

  • Athletes can participate in 3 events per meet, any combination of field and running events

• SGCS is a member of Cincinnati Track CYO (CTCYO)

  • The Boosters will provide each athlete with a cotton SGCS Track shirt that they keep

    • Option upgrade to performance t-shirt for $5

    • Athletes have the option of personalizing their shirt

      • Printed across the back

      • Younger athletes tend to get first names and the older athletes tend to get last names

      • $5 cost for personalization

    • We are using the same design for a couple years so that the shirts can be worn again.

Registration Instructions

If you have created an account for any other sport, log into your account and begin the registration process starting in the next paragraph. If you have not already created an account, click the Register button in the upper right of the Homepage. Once you have created an account you should see your athletes listed in the Participants section of the My Account screen.

When a sport registration period opens you will see a button next to the participant. Click that button to access the sport registrations. Select the sport and complete the form. When you get to the payment screen you will see that it defaults to Credit Card. If paying by check, change the drop down selection of Credit Card to check and then you can complete the submission of the registration.
