Changes to Fields and Registration

Hello Little League Families,

The Snake River Little League is excited to open registration for the 2024 spring season this week! Before we do that, we wanted to let parents know about a few changes for this year.

First is that there will be no change to the Tball division. There will be teams in Dayton, Waitsburg, and Prescott that will play 2 times a week. Teams will practice in their hometowns and play games within those 3 towns. Registration will not change.

The biggest change this year is SRLL will not be using the Waitsburg Fairground Fields. Due to the condition of the fields and challenges in getting a contract with the city, we wont be using them this year. For kids in the Coach Pitch and Minor Player pitch divisions you will have the option to choose Dayton, Prescott, or an open draft option for registration.

Prescott is working to improve their fields, and provided they can finish the necessary improvements and have enough registrations to field teams, they will have home teams for Coach Pitch and Minors divisions.

Majors and Intermediate teams will be hosted in Dayton.

Registration For kids in Minors, Majors, and Intermediate division will look a little different this year. Instead of registering in the division you want to play in, you will register as an “8-and-up Try-Out player”. Players in this category will attend tryouts and be drafted to a team based on their skill level. Kids who do not attend tryouts will be drafted to the lower division of their age group. For example if your child is 8 years old and does not go to try-outs they will be placed on a coach pitch team instead of Minors. If your child is 10 and does not try out they will be placed on a Minors team instead of Majors. etc. Coach pitch will register the same way Tball does. Parents can choose this division for players 6-8 who have played at least one year of Tball.

Whether we have an intermediate team or not is dependant on registration. If we do not have enough 13 years olds to register, 12 year olds will be moved to a majors team. By hosting tryouts this way we hope to have more well rounded and competitive teams that set the players up for a successful season.

Thank-you
