2023 Challenger of Lancaster County Little League LLWS TEAM SELECTION CRITERIA
As you may have already heard, Challenger of Lancaster County Little League (CLCLL) has been selected to participate in this year’s Little League World Series (LLWS) Challenger Exhibition Game! The 2023 CLCLL LLWS team will be composed of 15 players, 15 buddies, a team manager, an assistant team manager and two coaches. The team manager – former League Commissioner and coach Mike Tafelski – is coordinating the details of this event. The Assistant team manager is long-time Challenger player and Assistant Coach Lance Hosler. The two assistant coaches – current executive board members and prior coaches Luke Senkowski and Mike Laverty - round out the coaching staff.
A few of the criteria necessary to be considered for participation in this exhibition are as follows:
- The Player must have been registered for CLCLL in the 2022 season as well as the current 2023 season.
- The Player must be “league age 22” or younger for the 2023 season (must have a date of birth on or after September 1, 2000).
- The Player (and a responsible parent/guardian) must commit to being available to travel to Williamsport on the morning of Friday, August 25th and remain through Sunday August 27th.Lodging and Transportation will be provided.
- Buddies must commit to similar availability. Transportation and Lodging may be available depending on circumstances. Please indicate your interest/connection in being a Buddy.
- The Players and Buddies are required to sign publicity and photo waivers.
Additional selection criteria may be used to select Players and Buddies (number of years in the league, etc). Final team selection is at the discretion of the CLCLL LLWS Team Manager and coaching staff.
