Which league is right for my kid?

American League or National League?

The most common question parents have is which league is right for their child.
In a nutshell, the American League is our recreation program and the National League is our competitive program.

Whichever one you choose,
our ultimate goal is to provide a competitive, fun and rewarding youth sports program.

American League -Recreation

In the American League (Recreation), every kid plays!

Ages 3-8 are placed on a team based on their geographic location.

PeeWeeT-Ball 3-4: Ballplayers ages 3-4 learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Young athletes hit the ball from a batting tee which is height-adjusted for a level swing, batting in order through the line-up for the entire game. The primary goal is to begin to instruct young players in the fundamentals of baseball in a supportive team environment.

Quickball 5-6: Ballplayers ages 5-6 learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment.

Rookie 7-8: Designed primarily for ballplayers ages 7-8, this division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.

Ages 9-15 participate in a traditional draft and are then drafted onto a team by the coaches.
Minors 9/10, Majors 11/12 & Pony 13-15: Player pitch. Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to
understand game strategy and teamwork. They also participate in a postseason tournament, and there are also All-Star teams chosen
to play in the All-Star tournament.
**Please note - depending on the number of Pony League teams, they may travel and play some of their games against teams from Herriman, Riverton, Copper Hills or Bingham. This applies to the Pony League (ages 13-15) ONLY!

The point of emphasis for the rec program will always be to
help kids learn, develop, and hopefully find a love for the game of baseball!

National League - Competitive

The National League is for competitive teams. Coaches register their team as a
whole in the League.
A total of nine teams from all of those
leagues combined will sign up
at their home field in one-year increments (8u, 9U, 10u, 11u, 12u etc). These teams will have games in Eagle Mountain and
travel to play teams in Bingham, Herriman, Riverton, and Copper Hills. Each team will play the other eight teams in each age group one time at their home field and then travel to the other team's home field for the other game.
One or two teams will be chosen at the end of the season for kids to play in the State tournament, with the chance to play in the regional tournament.

Intact League

The Intact League is for intact teams. Coaches register their team as a whole in the league.
8u, 9u, 10, 11u, 12u, 13u, 14/15u, 16/18u
16 games, 8 at home, 8 away. Starts the week of April 2, 2018.
