PLEASE NOTE:
We have closed registration for players at the AAA and Majors levels.  We are currently at the maximum amount of players for two Juniors division teams so if you're still interested please register and you will be wait-listed.  We still have a couple spots open to fill out a Seniors team.  Players can still sign up for Tee-Ball, A and AA.  Please read this article before starting the registration process.

While this new registration system is intended to make the process more efficient, just like a baseball game, we expect you will experience both home runs and errors.  So please be patient and let us know what you like and don't like.

Do I have to register online?
Yes, all families need to register online.  Even if you are required to come to a Documentation Day, we encourage you to register prior to attending.   Start by clicking "Register" then "Create New Account."  You should set up one Account per family.

Who is required to attend an in-person Documentation Day?
NEW PLAYERS must come in to provide documentation, including original birth certificate and residency verification per Little League International (see more details below)
NEW PLAYERS who live out of the district but attend school in the district must also provide proper documentation plus a school enrollment form
RETURNING PLAYERS who have moved since last year or who have changed schools must provide proper documentation (see below; you are not required to bring an original birth certificate)

New players will also be able to pick up raffle tickets, provide volunteer forms and/or pay by cash or check in person (if preferred over using the online payment system or sending the check via mail).

Who else is encouraged to come to an in-person Documentation Day?
RETURNING FAMILIES who want to pick up raffle tickets to sell to families and friends prior to Opening Day (you will still be eligible to win if you don't pick up your raffle tickets during Documentation Days or tryouts)
RETURNING FAMILIES who prefer to pay by cash or check in person instead of using the online payment system or sending the check via mail
RETURNING FAMILIES who prefer to provide their volunteer forms in person versus uploading it into the system or sending it electronically to [email protected]
RETURNING FAMILIES who have questions for board members, or simply want to chat it up

When and where are Documentation Days?
Documentation Days will take place at the Brandywine Community Center (4050 Brandywine Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19803; next to Target) on the following days/times.  A $25 late fee may be applied after Feb. 5 for all divisions except for Juniors and Seniors.

Saturday, January 27 (9-noon)
Monday, January 29 (6-8 p.m.)
Saturday, February 3 (9-noon)
Monday, February 5 (6-8 p.m.)

Do I have to pay by credit card using the registration system?
You can register online and choose to pay by credit card or check.  You can mail your check to BLL, PO Box 8164, Wilmington, DE 19803.   You can also bring your check or cash to one of the Documentation Days listed above.  The league pays a credit card processing fee so checks and cash are welcome.

What are fees for this year?
To keep Little League affordable, we are maintaining and/or reducing the fees set in 2013:

Tee-Ball - $100
A, AA, AAA, Majors - $125
Juniors/Seniors - $165 (umpires are paid at this level but we've reduced the rate from past years to ensure that our program is as accessible as possible)
Raffle Tickets ($30) and Discount Cards ($25) are $55 per family (this is a 1x mandatory fee and both tickets and cards can be sold to cover this expense)
A $25 per family late fee may be assessed after Feb. 9 (except for Juniors and Seniors divisions)
The maximum any family will have to pay for multiple children is $400  (plus a one-time $55 fee for raffle tickets and discount cards).  This should be applied at checkout but, if not, please alert [email protected]

The BLL Board is very sensitive to how much we ask for each family to pay to play.  In reality, Registration fees cover just over 40% of the league's operating costs.  To cover the balance, we ask every family to support our Fundraising efforts (raffle tickets and discount cards) that cover another 25% of the budget and require no door-to-door solicitation by your children.  In fact, both the raffle tickets and discount cards can be sold to recover those fees.

Sponsors and Concession Stand revenue cover the remaining 35% of the budget, so please support our Sponsors' businesses with your patronage.  And visit the concession stands often!

What is my child's Little League age?
In order to play in Brandywine Little League you must be of official league age -- between 4 and 16 years old -- as defined by Little League Headquarters.  When you register, if the division you expect your child to play in doesn't pop up, please send a note to John Imburgia, Player Agent, at myplayeragent@ gmail.com.  We can transfer your player within the system at a later date.  New Players to the league MUST bring the player's original birth certificate when registering the child.

What are the age ranges by division?
Go to the Available Programs page to see division descriptions including age ranges for each division.  Click "Show Details" to learn about age ranges, level of competition, style of play, ability to request coaches/players, and year-end All-Star opportunities.

What are the Residency, School & Document Requirements?
For a child to be a Little Leaguer, eligibility must first be established by way of residency inside the boundaries of the local Little League, OR the location of the school where the child attends is located inside the local league's boundaries.  Note that this excludes home schools, cyber schools, sports-related schools, sports academies, or preschools, or after school where a student participates outside of the primary school the player is enrolled.

Here are the 2018 Residency and School Attendance Eligibility Requirements:

- Either the school enrollment form or an official/certified school enrollment record dated prior to October 1, 2017 can be used to establish school attendance for the 2018 season.  A school issued report card or performance record is no longer acceptable to establish school attendance.

- Also, residence shall be established and supported by documents containing the full residence which includes parent(s) or guardian(s) name, street address, city, state and zip code information, dated or in force between February 1, 2017 (previous year) and February 1, 2018 (current year), from one or more documents from EACH of the three Groups outlined below.  New Players to the league MUST also bring the player's original birth certificate.

Group I
1. Driver's License (photo ID of parent(s) or guardian(s) with qualifying residence address)
2. School records (home address of player's parents or guardians)
3. Vehicle records (i.e., registration, lease, etc.)
4. Employment records
5. Insurance documents (with residence address)

Group II
1. Welfare/child care records
2. Federal records (i.e., Federal Tax, Social Security, etc.)
3. State records
4. Local (municipal) records
5. Support payment recors
6. Homeowner or tenant records
7. Military records

Group III

2. Utility bills (i.e. gas, electric, water/sewer, phone, mobile phone, heating, waste disposal)
3. Financial records (loan, credit, investments, etc.)
4. Medical records
5. Internet, cable, or satellite television records

NOTE:  Three documents from the same Group constitute only ONE document

What are the league boundaries for Brandywine Little League?

Click on Boundary Map to view BLL boundaries.  If you have questions regarding your address status within our boundaries, please contact John Imburgia, Player Agent, at [email protected] or 302-634-0237.

Please note that if your child played in Brandywine Little League LAST season (Spring 2017) and your family has since moved outside of the BLL boundary, your child can continue to play with BLL.  You must contact John Imburgia to complete paperwork that must also be certified by the Little League District 2 Administrator.

Who must attend tryouts?
Except for players returning to Majors, all players ages 8-16 must attend at least one tryout and are welcome to attend both.  See the "Key Dates" article for dates and locations.  Here are key things to know about tryouts:

Players should bring at least a baseball glove to the tryout.  Helmets will be provided, but you may bring your own if you wish. Ages 8 through 12 must wear sneakers -- no cleats or street shoes will be allowed.

Please arrive at your tryout at least 15 minutes before the listed starting time.  Tryouts are not "arrive anytime between the starting and ending times."

In accordance with Little League rules:

- 10 and 11-year-old players who do not attend any of the tryout sessions will not be eligible to play in the Majors division.

- Players age 12 may not play in the minors and must attend at least one try-out in order to be eligible to play.

- 14 year old players who do not attend any of the tryout sessions will not be eligible to play in the Seniors division.

If you cannot make any of the tryouts for your age group, or have an injury that will prevent you from trying out, please contact John Imburgia, Player Agent, at 302-635-0237 or [email protected] no later than the Thursday before the first tryout.

Tryouts involve various phases of the game including fielding, running and hitting with all players performing each phase collectively, in tryout number order.  Tryout numbers will be provided at check-in.

Please arrange for someone (parent or other relative, neighbor, etc.) to stay with the player during the entire tryout.  Please do not drop players off and leave them alone.  The listed ending times for each tryout are for reference only and will vary based on attendance.  The tryouts often end earlier than the listed ending time.

Tryouts for 8's-12's will take place rain or shine since they take place in a gymnasium.  For 13's-16's, since tryouts are held outdoors, we will make decisions based on field conditions and alert players via e-mail and/or the website if tryouts need to be rescheduled.
