Stoneham Senior All Stars - District 13 Champs!

Stoneham Sr All Stars defeated Wakefield 10-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Nick Bamforth struck out #16 to finish off the game.
Richie Pignone led Stoneham Sr All Stars to victory by driving in five runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Pignone drove in runs on a double in the second, a triple in the fourth, and a single in the sixth.
Stoneham Sr All Stars tallied six runs in the fourth inning. Terence Moynihan, Joe Connell, and Pignone each had RBIs in the frame.
A single by Christopher Power in the first inning was a positive for Wakefield.
Connell pitched Stoneham Sr All Stars to victory. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out ten.
Power was on the pitcher's mound for Wakefield. He lasted four innings, allowing 14 hits and nine runs while striking out five and walking zero. Holman threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Stoneham Sr All Stars collected 16 hits on the day. Colin Strong, Pignone, Connell, Moynihan, Ben Donovan, and Jacob Nardone all collected multiple hits for Stoneham Sr All Stars. Pignoneand Strong each collected three hits to lead Stoneham Sr All Stars. Stoneham Sr All Stars was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Nardone made the most plays with seven.
Coswell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wakefield in hits.
