Greater Cincinnati Youth Football League families,
Last night, the GCYFL Executive Board met to discuss our league moving forward for the 2020 season. The GCYFL is committed to playing football this year.
Every day we receive word that another organization or league has decided to cancel their 2020 season from the youth level, to the high schools. Committing to having a football season in 2020 takes a lot of work from a lot of great volunteers.
For our league to successfully have a season in 2020 we needed make some hard decision which we hope you will support.
- We are moving the start date for the GCYFL 2020 Season from August 15th to August 29th. This correlates our schedules with the high schools and Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA).
- Our plan is to have a seven-game regular season with playoffs and Super Bowls.
- A new schedule is being created to accommodate the changes and it is our intention to share it with everyone on Monday.
- August 22nd is being designated as our GCYFL scrimmage weekend. At this time though scrimmages are still prohibited outside of your own organization by order of the Governor’s office.
As the GCYFL receives more information we will be alerting our membership.
