Online Fundraising Platform

To make collecting pledges as simple as possible, we have enlisted the services of 99pledges. Each player will have their own personal pledge page to send out to friends and family to allow them to support your fundraising goal. To setup your pledge page, please visit https://99pledges.com/fund/ovllhitathon2018 and search for your player (players’ names will not appear until online registration and document check have been completed). Using 99pledges allows you to reach out to friends and family across the world via email and social media. The site also allows your sponsors to pledge via credit card using a secure site!

What to Do Next

To make your fundraising campaign as successful as possible take these steps:

● Send emails to 20 of your closest friends and family right away!

● Make your donation immediately. This will encourage others to donate as well.

● Post to Facebook and Twitter (adding a picture or video message works really well)

How it Works

Every registered OVLL player will receive 3 pitches for free

(Pitchers will be provided by the league. Tee ball players will hit of the tee)

Players earn an additional pitch for every $10 raised (no limit)

Players who raise at least $100 will earn a “special pitch” as well as an opportunity to win additional prizes.

Prizes

Along with supporting your Little League, we have some great prizes lined up, including an Apple Watch and Xbox One! There will also be snack bar punch cards, free ICEE’s and other great prizes! The following are the different prize categories.

·       The player who raises the most money.

·       The top fundraisers in each division.

·       The team who raises the most money.

·       The player who hits the most target points during the Hit-A-Thon for all divisions

Hit-a-Thon Fundraiser FAQ

Why a hit-a-thon?

We were looking for something simple that allowed players the possibility to collect smaller dollar

amounts (if desired) from a potentially larger pool. Since there is no fixed cost or perishable items to

deliver, players can now collect donations from friends and relatives regardless of where they live. We

also felt that hit-a-thon would help build a sense of community amongst the league by creating a fun

event for all to enjoy.

How will players collect money?

Each player will have their own web page that they can share via email or social media. Donations can

be made through the website via credit or debit card. Players will also have the option of collecting cash

or check donations and submitting manually.

How much will each player need to raise?

We are asking each player to set a minimum of a $50 fundraising goal. The more you raise the better

chance you have to win a prize!

When is the hit-a-thon scheduled for?

The hit-a-thon is scheduled for Sunday April 29th starting at 9:00AM.

Why do we need a fundraiser at all?

Ocean View Little League works hard to provide the best fields while keeping our registration fees as low as possible. We are 100% responsible for paying all maintenance and upgrade costs to our fields along with paying insurance and permit fees to use the fields and school practice sites.

What is the money we raise used for?

In addition to the operating costs listed above, the Hit-A-Thon allows OVLL to complete large projects. For example, last year’s Hit-A-Thon funds were used to help complete the snack bar renovations as well as the two new batting cages.
