Tackle Football Fall 2019


Team sizes are limited. We do not hold tryouts. To guarantee placement on a team, we strongly suggest signing up early. 
Divisions by Age: 
     Tiny Mite = 6 thru 7 year olds
     Mighty Mite = 8 thru 9 years old
     Jr Pee Wee = 10 thru 11 year olds      

*League age is determined based on actual age as of July 31st of current year.      
*5 year old's can play Tiny-Mite if parent is coach       
*7 year old's can play Mitey-Mite if parent is coach       
*9 year old's can play Jr. Pee Wee if parent is coach 

Step 1
 -Register your child on-line first and then come to a paperwork completion date to complete the registration process. There will be a couple of paperwork completion dates occurring in June.  Online registrations need to be done prior to paperwork completion on-site. You will still need to stop by one of the paperwork completion dates for equipment fitting and initial weigh-in. If you select the "pay by check option," payment must be made before teams are built at the end of June. Non- paid players will be put on the waiting list.
Step 2 - Build teams. Players weight, age, location, and prior playing experience will be considered when assigning players to teams. Some players may fit in more than one division and sometimes teams have to be combined to balance rosters. A player will only be moved out of a requested division or school area if the parents are in agreement.  If there is no space available for your player on a team, they will be put on a waiting list (If a player cannot be placed in the desired school area or a team is not available, then parents may receive a full refund. If a player quits after Jamboree no refund is available. Prior to Jamboree a 50% refund is available.
Step 3 - Get your paperwork together.  
     1. Copy of an official state birth certificate is required (hospital keepsake or birth
          announcements are NOT accepted) 
     2.  Parent/Player Contract Form - name must match birth certificate exactly.
     3. Pop Warner Physical Form (two-sided) signed by the doctor (dated after
          January 1st of the current year and before the 1st day of practice).  Don't wait
  until August to get get your physical.  

     4. Year-End report card for current year (all 4 quarters).
     5. CCPW Concussion Form and Read the Cardiac Arrest information handout.

Step 4
 -Pick up your equipment at gear hand out Butler Acres Elementary and meet your coach. Date TBD.  An email will be sent out with each team/division's scheduled pick-up time.
Step 5 -Begin no pad practice Aug. 1st. Must have 10 hours before contact. Please note that the practice schedule is fairly intense, typically 4-5 days each week and lasting up to 2 hours each day. Parents must contribute time to help with the program either at games or fundraising events (chain gang, MPR play counts, concessions, etc.) during the season.
Step 6 - Begin practice with full pads, as soon as 10 hour no pad practice requirements are met. 
Step 7 - Jamboree and official player certification,  AUGUST 17/18TH 2019
Step 8 - 1st Games schedule August 24/25th 2019. No games will be held on Labor day weekend.  
Step 9 - Conclude regular season around mid-to end of October. 
Step 10 - Begin play-offs for Jr. Pee Wee Divisions.

Cheerleading Fall 2019

How it Works - Our cheer squads travel with their football team and perform in front of our fans during each game. The season runs August 1- End of October. In addition to cheering for our teams, our cheer squads are involved in a competitive cheer competition at the end of October. Jr. Pee Wee may have a chance to advance to Regionals in November and Nationals in December, depending on the leagues' cheer planning. Cheer squad sizes are limited and are filled on a first come, first serve basis. We do not hold tryouts. To guarantee placement on a squad, we strongly suggest signing up early. Our cheerleading squads are an essential part of our football program.  All girls and boys are welcome. Cheer squad participants are the same age as the football team with which they are associated with (if available). Divisions by Age:
Tiny Mite = 5 thru 7 year old
Mighty Mite = 7 thru 9 years old
Jr Pee Wee = 8 thru 11 year old
PeeWee = 9 thru 12 year old 
Varsity = 10 THRU 14 year old

Step 1 - Register your child for cheer on-line. There are a couple of mandatory on-site fittings/registrations events in the area that usually occur in June. At this event you must get fitted for a uniform.
Step 2 - Build cheer squads. Board members will look at prior experience and location to assign cheerleaders to squads. (If a child cannot be placed in the desired school area, then parents can request  a refund minus any online registration fees.)

Step 4 - Cheer practice begins 1st week of August. Practices will consist of 5 days a week, 2 hours a day for the first 2 to 3 weeks to allow for all participants to reach their mandatory 20 hours of conditioning before jamboree. Parents must contribute time to help with the program during fundraising events and concessions during the season.
Step 5 - Jamboree and official PARTICIPANT certification WILL BE AUGUST 17/18TH 2019
Step 6 - 1st Games schedule August 24/25th 2019. No games will be held on Labor day weekend. 
Step 7 - League Cheer Competition is at the end of October. Depending on placement for Jr. Pee Wee and above,  additional regional/national competitions may occur in November and December, needing additional fundraising or out of pocket expenses.

Step 8 - concluding the season, participants will wash and return their cheer skirt, sleeves and shell to CCPW.

Football & Cheer Camp NW 2019

When: August 3rd & 4th
Time: Football Camp runs 4-7:30pm each night. Cheer Camp runs 4:30-7:30pm

Cost:
Registration is $45 per camper. 
Location: Schroeder Field is one of the premiere natural grass fields in the Northwest and located at:  Kelso High School 1904 Allen St. Kelso, WA
Who Can Attend: Youth Football & Cheer Camp NW is open to any child in Oregon and SW Washington entering grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Attendees should be interested in improving their knowledge and skills in the game of football or cheer in a non-contact camp setting. Campers will be grouped by age and ability for a fun and positive experience.

What To Bring: Campers should wear comfortable tennis shoes or cleats. Camp will happen rain or shine so bring appropriate clothing. Snacks Healthy snacks and drinks will be provided for the campers during scheduled breaks each night. 
Coaching Staff: Varsity Coaches from Kelso, Mark Morris, & RA Long Programs will provide instruction for this area-wide youth skills camp. The coaching staff is dedicated to providing each camper with a greater comprehension of the sport.

Football Camp Events:
Skill stations will cover every position and aspect of the game. Campers compete in our nightly Flag Football Showdown. On Sunday, we will host a Punt, Pass, & Kick event and recognize the top contestants in each age division.

Cheer Camp Events: Each camper will enjoy games, snacks, & a camp t-shirt. You will learn dances, cheers, sideline chants, stunts, jumps and more!
