Braves Jr. Varsity cheerleading team competes at YCADA Globals in Atlantic City, NJ!

For the first time ever, Chicopee Braves cheerleading will be sending a team to the YCADA Globals competition in Atlantic City, NJ. The Braves have never competed in any cheerleading competitions that were outside of the Pop Warner affiliated division and this competition offered an opportunity to not only compete against other Pop Warner teams in our division, but also Park & Rec cheer, AYC, as well as All Star. There were teams competing there from all over the country.
The team and their moms stayed at an Air Bnb in Atlantic City that was able to be 100% financially covered for the athletes and the coaches due to their fundraising efforts. On Friday, the 24th, the girls attended a formal prom at the Tropicana Resort where they were able to dress to the 9's (pictured), had snacks, drinks, and danced with the other teams that were competing in the festivities occurring over the weekend. On Saturday, they enjoyed a late lunch at the Sugar Factory where the girls paired up and shared the famous specialty drinks at the restaurant! After the lunch, the team made their way to the casino next door to visit the Lucky Snake where they went indoor Go Karting. In between all of that, JV went sightseeing, walked on the beach, did some shopping, and went to Starbucks!
While our Jr. Varsity cheerleading team did not place in their division, the team goes home with yet another learning experience and a taste of what the competition looks like at Globals!
Head Coach Tay: "The competition is fierce and while we brought it, we need to bring it more and we are looking forward to beating our own score next year at the competition. Myself and all of the girls are grateful for the experience with it being our first time competing at Globals, so hopefully next year, we're able to come back better and continue to learn from our competitions, regardless of the placement."
