Hobb Hits: Update 1/25/2020:

Hello Hobb Family,

Only 17 days until pitchers and catchers report!!!!!!!!!!

The start of the spring season is right around the corner. If you have not register yet please do so ASAP. There is a significant late fee that will be applied for anyone signing up after January 31st. It cost our league extra time and money for all that sign up late. So please get this done this weekend. Also remember to sign up if you would like to be considered for a manager or a coach. You can do this when you sign your son or daughter up.

We have been working hard trying to get everything ready for the season. Here are some important upcoming events:

Evaluations and indoor practices will be held at Hit & Run Sports Center this year with the exception of TBall. TBall will be at the Byram Intermediate School. Vo Tech wouldn't let us use their gym this year because they had a new floor put in and they do not want to rent the place out this year which is understandable.  For all practices please bring your helmets, gloves and bats. Wear sneakers no cleats please. The schedule is as follows:

March 4th (evaluations)-
6pm-7pm  8 year olds that wish to play at Minors level and 9 year olds

Opening day will be April 18th. Please arrive at the skate park by 9:30am. Ceremonies will start at 10am with games following right after. We are looking into making this event more of a fun all  day event for all levels. We might possible have food and drinks and some activities for the kids as well. We will have a meeting about this next month. Stay tuned for more details.

Laura Wagner will be doing our Apparel again this year. It was a HUGE success last year. So be on the look out for that and help support the league by wearing our colors around town.

There are a couple of fundraiser events that we will be looking to have this year. We will be holding another softball game. This event  was a huge success thanks to all that helped with this event. One other thing that was mentioned was a cornhole tournament. We will be discussing these events as well as others in our upcoming meetings. More detail to follow.

Game schedule and picture schedule will be out as soon as possible. We have to wait until the district sends our the Juniors and Major schedule before we can start with the other levels. This will happen early April. Once we have the schedules we will set up a picture day and let everyone know. We will try our best to get that set up earlier this year.

If anyone wants to get more involved please come to one of our montHly meetings. There is plenty to do and we will be losing some key posItions next year on our board. Its a good time to get involved and see what its all about. Our next meeting is February 4th at 8:30pm. Meeting is held at the field house. All are welcome to attend.

"Nobody wanted me. Scouts told me to go to school, to forget baseball. Coaches said, 'You're never going to make it.' I appreciated their honesty, because I think when someone tells you something you may not like, you have to use that as fuel for motivation."
